The incoming Clean Fuel Regulations, set to begin on Canada Day, are just the latest example of the policy fight over climate action and affordability.
PP is useless as tits on a bull for coming up with any ideas on how to fix anything. He whines and complains like a spoiled brat instead of offering Canadians a viable alternative for good leadership.
Wait. Give Evil Milhouse a chance to detail a fix.
Any fix.
Anytime. Like, today would be good.
Just, any plan for improvement.
Or, just let him go back to slagging Hair Guy for luls. He seems to really enjoy shitting on anything Hair Guy does, without a logical reason even when one exists. Right now, as leader of our opposition, he’s doing a fantastic job for the Red party.
Whenever I hear news of Pierre attackjng Trudeau, I get flashbacks of that youtube video of him cosplaying a lunch date with Trudeau.
The only thought that follows after that is the old playground story of a bully who is so infatuated with someone but unable to express themselves so they continue to bully harder in hopes of being noticed. The absurdity of this individual is painful.
If gas companies are given an excuse to increase profits they will. No different than grocery stores overcompensating for inflation.
Fortis in B.C. just lowered our rates in April
If only we had strong provincial governments that were actually working together with the federal government, we could actually see some positive change. They could easily put a cap on gas prices, which ultimately would be tax dollars paying the difference in flux, but they would actually have a vested interest in scrutinizing the changes closely. Gas companies would actually have someone they needed to justify an increase to that has the power to refuse. It’s not hard to bamboozle 40 million people with a 2 cent/litre increase every other week, we all have to drive to work. It is hard to bamboozle the tax man.
That said, it would also be easier if they colluded for them to drive up profits and hide the fleecing in our taxes. I guess it would depend on who was in power.
Also Suncor got hacked. Not seeing it much in the news outside of a couple articles. So we can expect gas prices to be effected by that, fun timing with legislation that will supposedly have an effect on prices. How much will be column A and how much column B, I wouldn’t put it past what passes for journalism here to push it all onto the legislation.
Isn’t this policy sorely needed? Cleaner fuel, maybe higher prices, both of which help slow climate change. We are all trying to switch away from buying gasoline, right? right???
I think it’s being rolled out too slowly.
At this point, everything that comes out of Polievre’s mouth is utterly predictable:
“The policy Trudeau just announced will lead to disaster!!!1! Alternative? Why would I bother formulating one of those?”
News outlets should just copy and paste that at the end of every story about government without bothering to actually ask him for comment. Tedious as hell.
We should really stop talking about this straight-up Nazi. I don’t get why it’s okay in Canada to have a major politician be a straight-up Nazi.
I hate PP with a passion, I disagree with almost everything he says, but he isn’t a Nazi. He’s just a politician acting for his base, who care far more about money than they do other people or the environment.
Nope, he’s straight up a nazi. His base is Nazis.
He is literally cozy with the German far-right.
He defends genocide and uses antisemitic tropes.
He is literally the textbook definition of Nazi.
