True. The damage is already done. The only value it can be extracted from it is to know the exploit that lead to the breach.
That’s not true with established ransomware gangs. They have a reputation to uphold, and as soon as there is a news article about them not paying up, all victims stop paying up.
So glad I never gave them my email address, personal info, or bought any awards.
