It’s impossible to make your data completely unattractive to purchase but using something like the adnauseum extension on your browser can make your data less useful when it has been purchased.
The only streaming service I’ve ever paid for was vrv/seeso because I would comit violent crimes to get another season of HarmonQuest or the My Brother, My Brother, and Me TV show.
Completely selfishly I’m not too mad about the web integrity thing because I hate ads so much that if I were forced to see them I would use the Internet less which would probably be good.
That argument might have made sense if it were being made in like 1992 but it’s been Russia’s seat for over 30 years
I think I saw somewhere that their machines are always broken because they’re locked into a contract with a specific service company that sucks but that might just be McPropoganda
The US is not prosecuting the US owners of the ship.
If it was only technically a “Chinese ship” in that a Chinese equity firm temporarily owned the ship and they used that as an excuse to seize the cargo and prosecute the foreign operator, that would also be wrong.
It’s an entirely different scenario and even then it would depend on where the guns are coming from and where they’re going. There has so be some limit on what countries can do on the international stage.
No. A LA based private equity company technically owned the boat at the time of transfer (they do not own it anymore, it’s been sold to the Greek company). That US based company is seemingly off Scott free in this situation and the Greek company is the one being fined and sanctioned.
Yeah, we just stole a million barrels of oil and people in this thread are acting like we would have been wrong not to.
They plead guilty to violating the IEEPA, which is a law we passed that says if we declare an emergency we can regulate whatever international commerce we feel like. The US being being wealthy enough that companies choose to comply so they can still have our business doesn’t make it right.
You want the United States to arrest someone in Greece for transporting oil from Iran to China? I don’t see how it’s any of our fucking business.
Posts like this are almost always bad faith. A week or so ago, someone posted in asklemmy asking which sub was the worst community and said they had been banned from the hexbear urbanism community for disagreeing about trains but if you actually checked they got banned for calling all homeless people drug addicts.
Crazy that they make you pay in pounds in the US though.

There is also a book by the same name. I also recommend the documentary Bitter Lake by Adam Curtis.
Holy wall of text Batman
As someone who used to have a pretty bad drinking problem, NA beers have gotten so good in the past few years. Heineken zeros are almost indistinguishable from normal ones and craft NAs have also gotten pretty good. Even though I’m not “fully sober” I mix in some non alcoholic beers if it’s going to be a long night to help pace myself.
Of course this is all a wild simplification but, Azerbaijan basically wants to take over all of Armenia and have a border with Turkiye. Armenia is “Pro-Russia” in that Russia is the only country offering to step in, and they desperately need the “peacekeeping” forces to keep Azerbaijan out. They kinda have to just go with whatever Russia says at this point if they want to continue to exist.
Campfire smoke is worse for you than cigarette smoke, the problem is the consistent exposure to the cigarette smoke through becoming addicted.
Whatever meaning it had originally is gone and it’s basically just a way to discredit anyone vaguely on the left you don’t like.
