Mr. Putin is still capable of preventing any harm to Russians from depleted-uranium ammunition by withdrawing all Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine.

Depleted uranium munitions aren’t just a risk to Russians. They’re a significant heath risk to everyone where they’re used–Russian soldiers, Ukranian soldiers, and civilians.

Whilst I find it very believable that Russia have been using them the whole time, do you have a source? I did a quick check but all the noise at the moment is about the US and these shells.

It’d just be good to have reference to a source that they are already using them.

Yep, exactly. As cool as DU rounds sound on the battlefield as a competitive advantage for piercing armor. They are a health risk to both the soldiers handling them and absolutely poisons the soil which will have an affect on future generations living on that land.

But I guess that’s the point - to scare the russians as well as salt the earth so it’s useless irradiated soil for either side to use for decades to come… Or I’m sure if Russia keeps the land, they’ll simply mine it anyways and who gives a hoot about the health of government workers mining resources for the motherland, right?? /s

The russians can get the fuck out of Ukraine if they dont want Uranium poisoning through high velocity rounds.

I am a chemist. Unlike you I actually know what depleted Uranium is and what the effects on the human body are without needing to be spoonfed by a youtube video. I am also aware of what the russians are doing to Ukrainians there and quite frankly, the russians are the far bigger problem. So I am going to say this again so that you understand: the russians had better get the fuck out of Ukraine or theyre going to die of Uranium poisoning.

Please be more polite… I didn’t say anything insulting or even extreme, neither did the news clip. You did earlier when you accused me of being pro-Putin for being concerned about fucking Uranium being used in a war which, I assume, is far closer to my home than yours… Also, by your attitude bad scientist.

Ukrainians are going to be poisoned you dumb fuck. The same shit happens everywhere these rounds are used. It poisons the land and water, and if they catch fire the air too. You don’t have to be shot with one of these rounds to get contaminated, just ask US soldiers from Iraq

That will not happen. They have won a great amount of area. They may come back to the table for peace talks, again, once they accomplish getting Nikolaev and Odesa.

“Ukraine will fight until the last Ukrainian.” Many lives are being lost due to NATO and us, the US.

We, the us, made it happen. We are still involved with foregin nations and creating more wars. We also have 800+ military bases outside of the US.

We are also pushing war with China, Taiwan.

Russia is fucked. They will never have Ukraine. They won’t even be a country in a couple of years.

Putin fucked up big time in his mad grab for the glory of the return of the Soviet Union. The vast resources of the Far East of Russia that China is eyeing should have been his move, and he could have expanded Russian trade with metals found there. Nope. Gotta get your paper army decimated by the superior tactics and firepower of the West instead.

Not sure where you are getting your information from, the US propaganda machine?

We are the ones funding the Ukraine gov’t, without us the war would not be possible.

Russia is 4x bigger than Ukraine, with many more people.

Peace talks should be the goal for most people, instead of funding more war that only profits the wealthy class.

More poor and working people are dying, when war is brought upon us by the elite of the world to make money.

Russia is 4x bigger than Ukraine, with many more people.

Which makes it all the more embarrassing for them, and even more of an indictment of their corrupt Mafia state’s effectiveness, that this so-much-bigger country is having its ass handed to it by Ukraine with the help of the West’s old surplus weapons.

More poor and working people are dying, when war is brought upon us by the elite of the world to make money.

Yeah, sure would have been nicer for everyone if Russia had stayed out of Ukraine.

In the US, we fight small countries for resources and profit, way smaller than Ukraine.

We have 800+ military bases outside the US ready to start wars with many.

NATO and US has a lot tobdo with the war, similar thing is happening in Taiwan, China.

Yes, it is. Inhalation of vaporized heavy metals, let alone vaporized heavy metals that emit alpha particles.

Like, putting aside all of the politics of this, that is why birth defects in Iraq are so fucking high. DU is not good stuff, if you care about the people using the weapons long term survival.

DU rounds and cluster munitions are already in use in Ukraine, by the Russians. The damage is being done no matter what. So why is it suddenly a problem when it’s the Ukranians, who are desperate for any advantage to keep their country theirs? They’re certainly not happy with having to use methods that damage their land, but they’ve made the decision that it’s a risk they’re willing to take in order to not be annexed by a brutal foreign power.

The video I posted, which got -32 and counting, but which is from, I would say, a reputable source, claims that the UK was not able to produce evidence that Russia was already using Uranium before giving Uranium to Ukraine. (if I remember correctly) But no one F-fing watches it :P

BTW I totally understand Ukraine using them. I am skeptical about others providing them…

The problem gets worse the more both sides add to it! The more cluster bombs and depleted uranium rounds are used, the more uninhabitable Ukraine will become.

Also, I’m not finding evidence Russia was using DU rounds before this - cluster bombs, yes, but not DU rounds. They definitely could have been, their tanks are capable of it, but the news media never mentioned it as far as I could find. That’ll change now that Ukraine is using them, though.

You act like Ukraine is acting independently and making its own decisions. The reality is that any decisions Ukraine makes are heavily influenced by the NATO alliance backing the war effort. There’s a point when you have to wonder how much pressure is being put on them to destroy their own country.

I bet we’ll find out in 10-20 years that they were forced to do this to themselves.
