fuck Russia.
Somebody more knowledgeable than me… wouldn’t mining somebody’s port (the Romanians) be an act of war?
Edit: Romania is also a nato member, so if so…. Fuck.
Don’t worry, there’s no historic precedent for attacks on civilian shipping vessels leading to major war.
None at all. On the plus side, the last time someone went that pants-on-head stupid and put mines where they shouldn’t, it was a very short war.
no, but there is precedents for attacks on civilian ships drawing other major powers into an already ongoing war.
This comes to mind:
mostly because we played that song for band one time.Lusitania, Athena, hospital ships and a shitload of merchant vessels operating in the exclusion zone around UK prior to America’s entry
Ukraine doesn’t have an errant nautical mine problem. This mine is a Russian attack on merchant vessels. If Russia can’t control the waters overtly, they will try to make it an exclusion zone, which is going to piss off a lot of other countries.
Given the sheer quantity of mines used by both sides, it could easily be one that got loose and floated away
I doubt it’ll lead to anything other than a strongly worded “HEY! DONT DO THAT”
fuck Russia.
