Can any #fediverse / #ActivityPub devs take a look at a proposal I submitted to #kbin and #lemmy?
Since the lemmy issue is getting overrun with people talking about other proposals, I’m thinking about submitting this as a #FEP. Is that still a useful process? I don’t know how many projects look to FEPs for implementation guidance.
I think a multireddit approach is a useful feature and still desirable alongside this proposal. They solve two different issues. A multireddit helps a user organize the topics they follow. My proposal is meant to decrease reposting of links and fragmentation of the conversation around those links.
As for the moderation issues, everything you said is true. But its completely up to the moderators so if that were a worry then the mod can choose to ignore this feature. Also, moderation issues were also why the proposal requires a symmetric relationship. My thought was a mod who was more worried about moderation issues would survey the remote community for a while and probably even engage its mod to form a direct relationship and gauge how closely their moderation styles align.
