More seriously, with the increasing popularity of tall motor vehicles like SUVs and pickup trucks, curbs don’t provide nearly as much safety to pedestrians as they used to.
I wish we regulated vehicles better so that curbs remained useful at protecting people.
At this point, even WALLS designed to protect bike lanes are being hopped!
Cars just don’t belong near people, it seems.
Tax vehicles by tire diameter or height of the driver’s seat. My old Ranger can fit as much in the bed as a modern goofy F-150 or Ram but it’s at least a foot shorter and wont turn a sedan into plastic confetti during a crash.
