The Senate minority leader trailed off during a press conference and stared straight ahead for a few seconds as his fellow senators asked if he was OK.
I don’t think putting age limits on public officials would fix the underlying problems with US politics, the fact that he can keep winning despite his incompetence and policy being anathema to the interest of his voters suggest much larger issues in the news and voting systems.
Even if we banned everyone over the age of 70 from being a legislator, we’d just have younger fecal stains getting elected by the same broken systems and pushing the same bad policy.
Age limits, please. Retire already…
Not opposed to age limits, but I could also see this happening to a younger person who’s simply sick.
Anything can happen to anybody but cognitive decline is far more likely as you get up there in age

I agree. Age barely tackles the problems. With this Mitch event, I’m reminded of the Feinstein thing from earlier this year.
