One of the reasons I came to Lemmy was because I was tired of their rhetoric. It became very sexist and racist. Not to mention is almost all bots just posting and replying to each other. Reddit was turning into cesspool ages ago.

Here’s the other side that was “just as bad.”

My heart breaks for her. I’m glad she gets to see the support of those around her while going through this. And Jesus fuck, how can you even do that to someone? US gig workers: If you have auto insurance, check your policy. Look for a " livery" exclusion. Many policies won’t cover you if you’re driving for a Uber/Lyft kind of deal and get in an accident (this exclusion does not apply if going under someone’s liability, usually only first party) . Some also include food delivery in that exclusion as well.

I don’t think violence against women is India specific, but it’s kind of like saying, “Well, it’s crowded in New York, but it’s crowed everywhere these days.” Like, yes, this problem isn’t country specific, but one seems to be way more extreme than the other.

I do not know how women in India are brave enough to leave the house. I feel like I just hear about them getting brutalized everywhere, every time of day, and by strangers and family alike. It’s like it’s only a matter of time over there.
