I’m in BC. It has been a 2 party system forever. Liberals and NDP have always been the only electable parties running.

Indian culture is especially sexiest and repressive.
Let’s get the cops to strip everyone naked at every traffic stop without any probable cause because that’s how good justice works? Our police need no reason to strip you naked? No.
If the cops thought he had drugs on him, there is due process. But they tried to use the sound of plastic rustling as their probable cause, which is not a valid justification by a long way. This guy could be in prison for drug charges if these cops followed the laws in place to protect us. But because the cops cut corners and curtailed a man’s rights in the process, any evidence is unusable. This man’s freedom, despite being a drug dealing piece of shit, is 100% the cops fault, they know this is illegal but did it anyway. They set him free with their own incompetence.
Yes, speak to a pro. Hiring someone to advise you will save you more than the they cost, especially if you value your time.
Unwordly Americans like to pretend people think of the US as the best country in the world. They think this because they have never spoken to someone from outside the US except for the Mexicans they persecute, so they have an empty canvas to fill with all kinds of wild notions.
Politicians are generally worldly enough to know it’s not true, but that doesn’t win elections.
Fair, ha ha, for this publication. But subscription news as a concept is just dystopic.
Knowing how your life is being governed is a luxury.
From 2015 for those with short memories: https://x.com/JustinTrudeau/status/646114034463338497
The electoral reform lie was especially heinous. It’s not your average political lie, it was THE central pillar of his campaign. It had massive support from liberals and progressives and was why they swept up so handily that election. Comparing that to silly small campaign promises is disingenuous.

They promised to end poverty for those with disabilities with Bill C-22. They switched out the actually disabled MP as head of the ministry with some suit and this new benefit isn’t even a fifth of what’s needed and reaches only half of those who need it. They say it’s just the foundations to build on, but they’ll be handing the reigns of this benefit to the conservatives soon enough who are certainly not going to improve it (despite unanimously voting for it).
Trudeau was initially elected on the promise of electoral reform. Campaign from the left, govern from the right is the Liberal MO. Their promises are meaningless marketing.
Conservatives were supposed to sweep up in France and UK and they both now have left wing parties in charge.
I lived in Abbotsford for a while. They have a KKK problem and the churches on every corner throw book burnings. Plus, organized crime drug wars! For a time it was the murder capital in Canada. It looks like a small, boring suburban town but it is a horrible place. The Christian right have all the political power and this is the result.

I remember exploring the Road Rash files as a kid and each bike sound was a single short click that just repeated rapidly. Times have changed.
I am a Canadian living on disability assistance. I’m in a dilapidated house full of cocaine addicts who party several times a week. I feel lucky to have found a place I can afford, many other disabled Canadians are less fortunate. The Liberal government promised to end disabled poverty with new legislation. It ended up being a fifth of what’s required to actually let us live at the poverty line and will reach only half of those who need it. Typical Liberal checkbox politics.

I liked Guy Caron. A socialist and an economist.
I don’t drive, I’m too poor to live anywhere well connected, and I’m disabled. So I rely on delivery and need my groceries to be as cheap as possible. That means No Frills. I buy from there or starve, I’m afraid. I’d be more inclined towards a guillotine based solution for Loblaws and Pattison anyway.
