The last time Ukraine was under Russian rule there was a literal genocide, so their backs are kind of against the wall, any peace with Russia is just a re-armament period until the next invasion.

I suspect turning another country into a radioactive wasteland of black-brown glass is politically unetnnable for most nations.
More realistically warheads need their fissionable components replaced every 20 years or so, Considering Russia claims to field the worlds largest nuclear arsenal on the same budget the UK spends on a much smaller arsenal (albeit likely far more advanced in the delivery system department) its extremely questionable wether the nuclear material in most of those warheads is still viable.
While in a full scale nuclear war even a 10% success rate is apocalyptic it really does matter if they want to make a demonstration strike on Ukraine, imagine the geo-political ramifications of Russia making the huge decision to make a nuclear strike only for that missile to fail to properly detonate.
I can never get past the geoguesser part
I have the entire smash bros melee intro song playing in my head now.
I mean… China is capitalist too its just state capitalist.
Those are actually private sized jets they re-branded.
Not really, Russia spends about as much on its arsenal as the UK while having orders of magnitude more warheads to maintain. Either they have help from the magic nuclear maintenance faeries or only a small portion of their arsenal is still functional.
Well yes, America can stop it any time really…
Probably dented for quite a while but Europe is already in the process of re-arming and there are no existential threats that could prevent it buffalo buffalo buffalo from doing so. Russia can’t take all of the EU or European NATO countries at once and Chinas military and navy aren’t set up with long distance power projection in mind. The only exception would be the US itself if they really went off the deep end on a second Trump term.
A really nice pair of boots that will last a long time. i already have some ok trainers but the boots I use for hiking are falling apart.
Massive government subsidies that allow companies to more or less run at a loss for the most part. Its the same playbook as Wallmart and just like Wallmart its a sure bet that those prices will go up once the local competition is wiped out.
Genz here, there’s this sweet spot from about 1985 to 2010 where games and even movies just peaked for me. (Yes I’m aware most of that is before I was born). For movies special effects were finally good enough to still hold up today if used well but not so insanely cheap as to get the modern michael bay problem where writing has actually become secondary to often pointless spectacle. With games its a similar story, the end of that time range is pretty much the point of highest technical capability before online updates allowed a ‘fix it later’ philosiphy to creep in as well as all the cool secrets (Red levels + star world + extra second secret star world is still unmatched in sheer childhood wonder) becomming paid DLC.
TLDR: Retro stuff doesn’t nickle and dime you and survivorship bias means we can pick from the best of it.
Eh pathfinder 2e is definetaly better than D&D but 1e is honestly really harsh in terms of character builds.
On the other hand in certain applications you can replace a significant amount of programming ability with a good undertstanding of vector maths.
My personal issue with github is more the placement of the actual download links, sometimes its harder to find than the real download button on a dodgy pirate site without ad-block.
Damn thats an incredible degree of overreach and looks like it gives established companies the power to take down any rising competitions websites without oversight.
I think that’s kind of the point though, we could meet space traveling aliens and deem them non sapient beings without emotions using the same logic we apply to animals because there’s no empirical way to prove that any creature isn’t just the sapience equivelent of a chinese room.
to be fair plenty of older games hold up today in terms of gameplay if you don’t mind dated graphics (or if the game uses a timeless visual style). There are a few that I’d totally pay full price for a re-release simply because its hard to get them to run on modern systems.
Isn’t their current level of inflation now what it was at when they decided it was time to enact emergency measures? measures that are still in place yet haven’t prevented inflation from continuing to rise.
