I noticed you’re still working with polymers.
“It’s backordered” or “It’s on backorder.”
I say “six oh five,” but with numbers, I say “zero” or “oh.”
Did you miss the part that said “I’ll need a research team and 5 years?” The XKCD character did it! SUCCESS!
It’s Apple trying to squeeze the last drop from the Lightning connector before its gone.
Yeah, I agree. I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, but it would be a very steep uphill battle. What we have now works great and we shockingly got the rest of the world to agree on it. The current OSI model provides a lovely blank canvas for all sorts of communication. Can it be improved? What system can’t? But from the days of ARPAnet to now was a long journey and this new Internet would have to start at the beginning and come into being like the Internet we all use today. I’m not interested in using dial-up again or waiting years to get “new” broadband. Too much investment is needed for such little reward.
Also, I feel like the author of this idea needs to brush up in their Internet history because it can’t be called Internet v2 for the reason you said.
IDK because they rock. I love mine. I’m even cool with the water being cold.
Man this warms my heart ;‿;
Yup, Republicans need dumb breeders to prop their party up. They’re banning critical thinking.
The fly sees it and immediately thinks, “This would be a good place to start a family.”
Looks like a bug! For me, from lemmy.world’s web interface, it is -1 as of this posting.
Hold up, that may not be always the case. My garage door has a spring wound under tension to help the motor lift the door and it is a one-car wide garage door. If that has a catastrophic, uncontrolled release and no one gets hurt, consider yourself lucky.
Note: $1399 does not give you a usable base system. It’s literally a chassis, CPU, keyboard, and screen.
I really want one :(
There was a good comic that I saw that leveraged this hypocrisy. I cant remember enough to search for it, but basically it showed one of these people returning home to their child after harming an immigrant’s family (I think).
Let’s say the fediverse is texting, Lemmy is Android, and kbin is iOS. They can text each other, despite being made by different companies.
I just subscribed to both and I’ll let time sort it out.
I keep bouncing between the two. It’s great to have options!
I’m hoping it won’t. I’ve had discussions with my friends from the earlier days of the Internet. The Internet was a much nicer place when you didn’t have everyone and their grandma on it. You actually had to be tech literate to use it. This resulted in higher quality interactions and content. You still had undesirable groups and places, but they were sectioned off to their own corner. Now, social media and its algorithms give everyone a soapbox. I’d rather they stay off my fediverse lawn.
I have a story, so I get wanting great video quality and why people get remuxes, but I have a friend who is borderline legally blind. His vision is so poor that he has to wear contacts and glasses at the same time. He has to get the remux version of things and complains about minor encoding artificacts from versions of things with smaller file sizes that I feel wouldn’t bother 99.9% of the population. Hell years ago, before he got an updated prescription, he was driving and he mentioned how bad his vision was getting and I asked him if he could read the license plate for the car stopped in front of us and he laughed and said no. Anyway, I feel like the extra quality is wasted on him. He’s like an audiophile who is hard of hearing. I just find this funny and wanted to share.
