This happens on every single online community, not just Reddit, fyi.
Like half the damn posts in this community are missing the gender tags :-/
It was always naive to think Lemmy was somehow immune from the bullshit of Reddit culture. It may be immune from a centralized authority that can ruin all instances, but in terms of the culture, it is the same. Whoever thinks differently is just drinking massive amounts of copium solution.
Was this recorded on a LG flip phone from 2003?

I think they’re just trying to get the conservative off their ass, just like every fucking company that is cancelling DEI programs and scaling back community LGBTQ activities. When boycotts and bad PR actually impact the bottom line is when you see this. It happens both ways. Companies don’t care about any of this. They only care about the bottom line. They’ll pander to whoever has the most financial impact on the business.
This is the way.
Never because it’s gross and tastes like shit.

Each simulation level would be more intensive to run. There is a minimum level where a simulation can no longer be sustained. So there is definitely a finite number of sim layers that are possible.
To more directly answer your question, each level of simulation would run worse to compensate for the resource decrease.
Say I want to create a new, decent app that takes us back to the days of stuff like early OkCupid which was smartly done and actually worked okay.
Can confirm - got laid on OkCupid back in the day.
