You have evidence that I’m wrong, correct?
LMAO… “bribes”… no, I have no evidence of “bribes.” I don’t have any evidence of a financial incentive either, as very clearly evident by my phrasing starting with “I bet…” I’m simply relying on 40 years of not having my head completely up my own ass to make some inferences about things, and if I’m wrong, then I’m wrong. I think you’re being intentionally obtuse. None of this really is impactful, but you sure seem to have an agenda.
I wouldn’t call that a good reason to team up with Meta, but I would call it a plausible. Everyone does not want to federate with the largest social media company in the world, I can promise you that. If you like federation, you’d probably like it to not be engulfed by megacorps (unless you stand to profit from it).
I think I’ve logged in for a collective 15 minutes. I deleted it about 45 minutes ago.
Are you truly incapable of acknowledging that large bags of money motivate people to do unpopular things sometimes?
I really don’t care about Mastadon as I haven’t used it much, but I couldn’t really think of a good reason for federating with Meta.
Yea I was really confused to read that. I’m on Kbin / Lemmy significantly more than I log in to Mastadon (I think I’ve opened that app 5 times in the past year), so now I guess I’ll just delete Mastadon.
I bet he’s getting a big bag of money.
They are both wrong and they are both right. Up until this past week, I tended to be more sympathetic towards Palestine. Unfortunately, the most recent terrorist attack by Hamas was against more than just Israel or its military. It was a terrorist attack at a music festival, and Hamas attacked citizens of multiple nations.
It’s a lot easier to support Israel right now. It sounds like they’re about to commit their own atrocities though, so you might have to flip your position tomorrow.

I was playing it last night on steam. I needed a new GPU recently and it came with a code to download it. 🤷♂️
Anyone remember before LinkedIn when there was a law that people didn’t have to disclose their race on a job application, and how 90% of people ignored that protection and decided to post up their headshot on linked in anyway?
A lot of people that have feelings and behave like your friends do so out of insecurity. Apple stuff works really well within their own ecosystem. They’re kinda dicks about how they run their app-store, and I do believe they overcharge for most everything they make; but it doesn’t change that their stuff works really well, consistently.
I have to use Windows, OSX and various forms of Linux on almost a daily basis. They all have pros and cons.
Maybe it should say, “If the world went open source, and capitalism went away.”
I’ve come to terms with the reality that if you can think up something shitty that fucks end users and consumers, it will happen.
Par for the course in the era of runaway corporate greed.
It’s already in the comments, but you can’t go wrong with cash or a gift card.
bad economic policies
Who cares about China anyway?
Yea the person claiming Biden has bad economic policies wants to ignore the second largest economy in the world… 😂
A lot of the time it’s just an attempt to be patriotic and not fuck up the color scheme of the vehicle.
The market is so short sited. Sure, Netflix saw a bump in subscribers last quarter, but what were the cancellation numbers in the same quarter? I never got to see that info. I’m sure there’s more than a handful of people that didn’t mind spending $10 to finish the series they were binging, just to cancel the subscription shortly after. If you have more subscribers and more cancellations, does it really matter?
I’d have to spend time looking through conservative nonsense to make memes about it. I don’t care to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
