Sensationalist bias goes brrrrrr.
This is a decent analogy, but ignores the practicality of the situation.
How exactly do you get the UK electorate to support this, there really isn’t any benefit to them, it’s just like throwing money into a bonfire. Besides it’s not like the UK economy is currently doing that well, and given that, it’s unrealistic for anyone to support the government just taking more money away intentionally. You’re basically begging for a far-right populist to come in just because they say this is a terrible idea, which is in and of itself the primary reason why it’s a terrible idea.
What the fuck kind of prices are you guys paying for plastic bags!? At my local grocery store they charge 5 cents for a plastic bag, and the other nearby one gives you recyclable paper bags for free. I thought about this for a bit but at a whole nickel per bag it’s probably not worth profiting off of, or if it is profitable, not enough for anyone to care.
This seems to be caused by kit signing out of your account without really understanding that you’re no long signed in. After the security breach my instance signed out all users and I ran in to this issue as well. Retyping your password fixes it for now.
Doesn’t that mean that the oil produced here emits less net CO2? Since CO2 was used to extract it, taking it out of the atmosphere, that mean that the entire process of extraction and consumption emits less net CO2 than more traditional methods.
Hardly carbon neutral, but an improvement.
