Early on Russia said it would treat any foreigner fighting for Ukraine as a mercenary, and criminally punish them. Doesn’t matter that they sign with the Ukrainian government to fully be in the Ukrainian military. Just more rank hypocrisy, as they pull soldiers from all over Africa, India and China. Along with Americans caught in statutory rape charges that happened to flee before trial.

You absolutely can ask them that. Noticing it is not the same thing as getting distracted by it. Allowing your focus to be highjacked by the environment is a sign of a weak mind. If you went to work and a coworker told you the shape of your nose was distracting to them, and you need to wear a mask so they can continue to work, that is on the coworker, not you. It is absurd to put someone else in charge of what needs to be done to stop you from being distracted.

People need to control themselves, no one else has that ability.

They do, but they shouldn’t. You should not ask a stranger to change their behavior because you cannot control your own. Maybe family would do it for you, but even then it’s can be a shitty thing to do.

Two things are happening simultaneously Russia/China are trying to spread discontent, and Trumps followers are being told they no longer have to abide by social norms that keeps societies civil.

I believe the uncivil thing just always comes in waves as the people that don’t like change are forced to change and get resentful. Some kind of event happens and resets the floor, or all the people that don’t want to change die off, and things settle down.

And this is the mental framework through which I see the world.

It stopped being your money when you gave it to them. It became their money, and they get to spend it how they want, with some caveats.

The US also has ‘salaried - non-exempt’ which would require the employer to pay for time above 40 hours. Manufacturing jobs aren’t allowed to be exempt from overtime pay. It is generally white collar workers that are allowed to be exempt from overtime pay.

Really depends on the religion. There are some religions that aren’t organized at all, and are fully self practiced. They don’t require things to be sold.

The religion of capitalism is a different beast though. I would say that people need things to celebrate in life though, or they tend to get very hostile. It seems to me that the more communal an event is the better the effect is on society, as people can set aside a lot of grievances for the festivities.

Probably could, if there were better computers to parse the images. But due to the fact that there’s not a computer as good as the brain is at moving physical body through space, you need to use other tools at the moment.

It’s possible, but it’s mostly scammers, and possibly a real company verifying that the number is actually an active one, that they should call back in the future when a scammer is available. Also makes the phone number more valuable when they sell it on to the next scamming “company”.

It’s already been recorded by then. But I guess they’ll need to send someone out to collect you, instead of you swimming into their net.

It is a bit demoralizing, as a human, to see leaders in the free world doing this. I don’t think I know of a time the Ukrainians have been ungrateful. I know they’ve been impatient, but that happens when you see children dying from the army that’s invading. NATO weapons are finally being used in the purpose they were manufactured for, defeating the Russian army.

Send the clerks to make sure the weapons aren’t being diverted, and let them fight for their lives.
