  • The autocomplete is amazing

It just takes the mental strain out of syntax and I can focus more on the logic and structure of the code

Like you said much better for writing unit tests, but also for log messages and comments

Even the chat is sometimes useful but not as much. I treat it as much junior engineer assistant/rubber duck. I.e. I never completely accept what it outputs and usually review everything but quite often it gives me a different idea/approach even if it doesn’t write it 100% correct the first time. Because I always review it, having it autocomplete the next line is my preferred approach so I verify each line as they come.

Once you start to past 10/20+ lines in a row you will have a bad time.

  • Read the article if they had not taken off at that time they wouldn’t have made the return flight in time (Zurich airport has no landings past midnight). So not flying means that 111 people would not make it to Bilbao (without their bags) and a similar amount of people wouldn’t make it to Zurich (with their bags).

Personally, I would rather take the flight and get my bag a day or two later. Annoying af yes but at least you get some compensation to get some clothes.

If half the people are flying home it’s not even that big of a problem.

  • I’m very much on the hate Reddit train but that also happened to me and I think I have an explanation.

I think those delete scripts have a hard time in deleting your posts and comments in subreddits that have since gone private. Then if the subreddit reopens (probably because they were forced by Reddit or something) then all the comments you made there “come back” and it appears that Reddit restored them.

At least when I deleted all the comments in my Reddit account I the checked in a few days and I have a few that came back and they were all from the same subreddit that was private for protest before.

It’s not. I read this in any post here and it just doesn’t make any sense.

r/place made the rounds the previous times outside of Reddit. It showed what an engaged community can do, and it was beautiful (especially the first one). This one will only make it clear how much of the active community is against these changes. And it’s making it much more obvious than ever.

Yes people are using the site but Reddit won’t make bank on this. Most of the people protesting are probably using scripts and so on pc, and as such for sure using ad block as well. That’s no revenue for Reddit. Even the official mobile app can’t load it, so people aren’t even using that.

Yes they can boast about having more engagement and activity for a few days but that’s not worth it in this case at all. Reddit shots themselves in (the other foot).
