  • Some companies makes their apps a lot better than their website and you often get more and better features from a mobile users point of view. But I also prefer the browser because I don’t want to fill my phone with apps I use only once a week or less and I can use adblocker. But it is pretty nice to be able to jump between apps instead of jumping between tabs. I have a lot of tabs open instead of downloading their app and also stuff I want to remember or pages I use often. I try to clean it up but I always have an infinity icon instead of a number for my tabs 😂 I tried using bookmarks but it is easier to find the right page as a tab (big thumbnail)

  • This may be a dumb Idee so please go ahead and tell me if it is. It seem ppl use it to know who to block in advance. What if you get a red name or some kind of info on the profile if the account has been blocked by other users and it is above 10 or 20 blocks? Would that help? That would suck for that account because it will forever be the ass hole account. But at least no one would really want to farm that except the trolls who want ppl to know they are trolls.

I like how it is now tho. It is good when the mods are responsible first and foremost instead of a system.

Usually are deletes not true deletes they are just set as deleted, often with a date or a boolean/bit in the database. I have never been to a company where true delete is the default. They are usually manually or scheduled. Just like non IT companies like banks store your info for many years. Even after you are not a customer because of the law.

So it is better to over write it. Often is that only backed up. Some have systems where nothing is truly overwritten because they need to see all changes like version handled web pages like Wikipedia but I would say most overwrite. It can be more complex than what is worth (to keep all the history).

  • I think most covered it all why they use a car.

I just want to add that it all depends on where you live. I don’t know what you mean by “most”. I would say most in cities with good bike lanes like Paris and Amsterdam would say most take the bike, or cities with great public transport like Tokyo would say most take public transport. If you live in a place like USA where it is dangerous to walk and the public transport is almost none existing then most would take the car. I think New York has ok public transport. But I don’t know, when I was there were sandy coming in so all of the subways were closed off.
