When I replaced my 5 year old phone the only two benefits I saw was OLED screen (never going without again) and the battery life going from maybe a day to like 40 hours

That’s basically just chaotic neutral
I used to, should do it again for when internet drops. Idk when USB C phones started being 3.0 so I’m not sure if what I was getting before was 3.0 or if I wouldn’t care. (Redmi note 8 pro is old phone if you care to compare at all)
My laptop is 144hz and I leave my phone on 60 for battery reasons and I’ve not noticed any issues using my phone. Scrolled my app menu back and forth quickly to see if I was just ignoring it but that seemed fine.
On one hand, yeah that isn’t great. On the other hand, would you literally ever notice? My new phone is 6 years newer and multiple times faster than my old one and the only functional difference I’ve noticed is OLED screen vs not OLED. Nothing ever lagged before due to hardware, hasn’t changed. Unless I’m using my phone as a USB drive, cord speed doesn’t matter. I presume I have 3.0 speeds from USB c, but it could be slower than 1.0 and I wouldn’t notice. 6 years of storage on my old phone got it to like 25gb used including the OS.
Can confirm, the GPU in my laptop costs more than all but my newest car.
With how low the average person is with tech skills, it’s very easy to be top 10%.
I remember hearing that they have gone for companies before, but that was a while ago and, ya know, just something I read that may or may not be particularly accurate.
That’s exactly what it’s for. If you use it commercially without paying winrar will come for you, but as a personal use case it’s just ad ware. You get the product, and deal with their ad every boot. You could pay for it, but it probably the least annoying ad on the internet right now.
Yes, but if I was only doing it for no ads, I’d rather just use ad block. Instead, I’m doing to to support the creators I watch in the laziest way possible, because I’m letting Google do all the work to spread the money out.
The majority of the people i subscribe to aren’t on Nebula, so that wont help a whole lot.
I lack the money to buy something from every creator I watch (literally over 100 channels subbed to), and premium genuinely does pay them more than ads. Sure, like half is going to google, but it’s definitely the easier way to support the creators that does actually pay them.
If you buy premium, do it to support the creators you watch, fuck doing it just for no ads.
My internet has been so bad for so long that 720p looks way too clear for a video. Primarily 240p life
There are programs like net limiter that you can use to just block access entirely for windows updates, every time one pops up to use data you can just block it, i think there’s like 6 processes windows will try to use to update various things. It’s not exactly what you are looking for, but it should solve your problem anyway.
I don’t actually know, my internet can’t run 720p anyway so I never tried to do that or above.
I pay for premium as well and just use Firefox for YouTube. I get tabs and a better layout
If on Windows, Windows defender is more than enough for all of that stuff. It’s very effective, although does require an internet connection or it won’t do as well
Physical games doesn’t fix this, if you have a physical copy of the crew itll be just as unplayable as the digital one.
My old phone screen was fine, I just hate bright lights and OLED gets way darker.
My new phone doesn’t have waterfall edges, presuming that’s a curved edge thing. Flat display on all sides, no side bullshit.
Another benefit of OLED, at least in my case (nothing phone 2a) is there’s no polarisation layer so I can wear my sunnies and look at my phone on any angle I please, instead of rotating it making the screen vanish. Laptop still does that and it’s super annoying, if I’m outside watching videos on it I just can’t use sunglasses.
