  • Unfortunately, failing classes in public education is not at all common anymore. It requires a lot of documentation, meetings, calls, individualized curriculum adjustments, and a multitude of second chances. On top of that, administration is not a fan because it makes the school look bad in their eyes.

A lot of the teachers I worked with would vent their frustration that it was way too much work to fail a student or get them dropped from the program. Unfortunately, I was too busy figuring out how to update the curriculum from Windows 7, on machines built to run Windows 7, as well as just learning how to teach (my “training” was about half a day of sitting in on other classes), to fight that kind of battle. At some point, it’s a disservice to the rest of the class to spend that time and energy on the ones who are there to coast.

I tried my best. Hopefully everybody learned a few things. If nothing else, I certainly did.

  • I wonder about the effects of having a low grade constant stressor like that.

Heart disease like irregular heartbeat and stroke. Gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers and IBS. Increased susceptibility to illness. Ability to learn/memorize/perceive are reduced. Not to mention the effects of maladaptive coping mechanisms such as drinking, smoking, drugs etc.

    Source.

Many disorders originate from stress, especially if the stress is severe and prolonged. The medical community needs to have a greater appreciation for the significant role that stress may play in various diseases and then treat the patient accordingly using both pharmacological (medications and/or nutraceuticals) and non-pharmacological (change in lifestyle, daily exercise, healthy nutrition, and stress reduction programs) therapeutic interventions.

  • Trump appointed Milley to his position in 2018. Milley said in an interview published last week in The Atlantic that Trump asked him when he offered him the position as chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff if he was “soft on transgenders.”

“I’m not soft on transgender or hard on transgender,” he says he replied. “I’m about standards in the U.S. military, about who is qualified to serve in the U.S. military. I don’t care who you sleep with or what you are.”

Trump announced his ban on transgender people serving openly in the military in 2017, which his administration defended in courts for years until the Biden administration got rid of it in 2021.

“Trump’s attitude toward the uniformed services seemed superficial, callous, and, at the deepest human level, repugnant,” Milley said in the interview.

I can see why Republicans hate him.

  • Title of this post: Upward of 20,000 Ukrainian amputees face trauma on a scale unseen since WWI

The title of your article: The Murder of People with Disabilities - The Nazis saw people with disabilities as an obstacle in their attempts to create an idealized “German race.” In 1939, the Nazi regime began a systematic program to murder them.

    What is the statement?

Is your problem with the fact that they say “since WWI”? Your “wink wink, nudge nudge, get what I mean” explanation makes no sense lol. Just say what you mean, nobody knows what the heck you’re talking about.
