Yup, they are only as good as their programming
The posting essentially says there is no risk than tosses out mercury and lead vapors which don’t exist in a HDD. Then it talks about the lead in solder. You’d have to vigorously rub and handle the solder on circuit boards to get any amount on your skin worth worrying about and then you just wash your hands. That risk is true of all boards that don’t use low or lead free solder. The whole comment is very hypothetical.
If your hard drive has dust it would’ve failed a long time ago. They are designed to be extremely clean. The head is like a 747 flying an inch above the ground. It sounds like an urban myth to scare people.
I used to collect AOL cds. I had a stack a few feet high. I was going to make some sort of artwork out of them.
From b&m to online and back. The cycle of life.
Yup. Sitting at home and just accumulating stuff without going out gets boring
They overbuilt. Outdoor malls aka “Villages” are the trend now and are doing well around my area.
Once they have all been eliminated, then and only then, will your feelings go away.
Guess I needed this “/s”
Free speech. They used to ban drug ads and that got dropped.
Personally I’d rather see ads for lawyers banned.
Billions? Trillions? Ummmm, anyway…
The reason is because they aren’t idiots, it works or they wouldn’t do it. The issue with car insurance (and I assume this is what you are talking about since they bombard me also) is that it is a commodity. Let’s face it, they are all the same and heavily regulated by states. The only way they can grab customers is by the “plant our name in your head” method and that requires yelling at you constantly.
That said I HATE those ads. Geico has now been replace by Liberty Mutual as the most annoying company.
Domestic sheep have to be sheared, if not their wool can grow to the point where they can’t see or feed properly.
I remember visiting Albuquerque a few days after the fest and people were saying how every single hotel room was booked that week a year ahead of time. The person at the car rental said they almost doubled the rental cost that week also.
Should’ve stuck to posting on /r/paytolickfatfolds
You’ll get reported as a suicide risk. You gotta love those messages.
Incorrect
I got banned by a bot because I went into an antivax subreddit to question them. The fact I posted on a “forbidden” subreddit got me auto banned by about a dozen subreddits, instantly. There was NO attempt to check the comment for context. Then I forgot I was banned by one of them and months later posted with another account and got permabanned for ban evasion. A 10 yr account down the drain.
Appeals would require a human being get involved and possibly overruling their mod slave labor

Fuck reddit, petty tyrants.
I found it took about 3 months to get bored with a subreddit. That was about how long it took to see the same postings and comments cycling over and over.
How do you leave it in a “functionable state”? Drivers disappear, hardware changes, libraries get updated, os’ update or die off, etc. You’d have to expose the source code to the public at that point and if I was a developer I’d want nothing to do with that market then.
