It translates to “Nintendo all stars!”.
I’m probably getting downvoted here, but I agree with your statement of the US having had a problematic history of usurping power from democratically elected governments in Central and South America. You can at least see that some of the countries that support Venezuela’s election results are run by dictators. Hell, Cuba and North Korea wouldn’t be out of place on that list too. Considering that Maduro lost a lot of popularity after Chavez’s death, partly due to the welfare system taking a huge hit when oil prices fell and partly due to him showing opulence in times of hunger.
All of these things may not be damning, but it puts the man in a bad light and makes me wonder if he actually did cheat the system in a way that our own domestic wannabe dictator tried doing just 4 years ago.
That sounds an awful lot like modifying an ESP32 script I’ve been trying to follow from a YouTube tutorial published a while back. Research hasn’t uncovered anything for me to troubleshoot the issue so it’s a really shit experience.
That too. Do it for all major levels of government. I’m getting tired of our futures being sold out by politicians.
Legislators get paid really well but they still take “lobbying expenses” and “donations” in exchange for votes and bills. Getting rid of Citizens United and setting up a proper nonpartisan anti corruption enforcement agency is still absolutely necessary to prevent this from happening.
The 3DO game company had a similar premise back in the mid 90s. They designed their console’s chip set and allowed any manufacturer to license and build them. Because the licensees didn’t get any royalties for game purchases like 3DO would, they’d sell them at high prices and levels of quality control to make sure they’d still make a profit.
It might be easier for a single company to make an open source appliance to better control initial build quality and allow the aftermarket vendors to handle replacement parts depending on the consumer’s preferences.
I thought OneDrive was a Windows thing. What’s it doing on Linux?
I am. I think you’ll find we’re mostly on a leftist spectrum relative to America’s Overton Window.
Vista sucked for sure, but Windows 7 was pretty great IMO. I was dragged kicking and screaming into the shit that’s Windows 10 because Steam stopped supporting 7.
I don’t understand the issue of bedrooms without a window. I once lived in a tiny studio apartment with a windowless bedroom. The total dark and silence gave me the best undisturbed sleep I ever had.
I’m American and I find it kind of creepy.
I don’t think it would be okay. Are you happy with almost all American media being controlled by a handful of mega corporations who are beholden to US hegemonic interests?
To play devil’s advocate here, I think it’s necessary for a social media platform to exist that’s outside the control of the US government. Just because we have the first amendment here that doesn’t mean our speech is protected, just look at what happens when protesters do it the “wrong” way.
Does that mean China gives a shit about our freedoms? No. They just won’t be forced into censoring things the US would want though, and the gap between their opposing hegemonic ambitions is where people can truly say what they want about the US in certain topics. While it’s true the CCP is data mining American citizens, their reach to compromise individuals is dwarfed by what US companies can do already.
Have you considered gog? They may not be betting heavily on Linux or have as a big of a selection but their games are DRM free. You can even install gog Galaxy, a game manager similar to Steam.
I’m doing my part!
Just look at the US Supreme Court’s recent rulings and tell me that’s a healthy judicial system. I’d rather have the ability to vote for a judge, but more importantly, we need to have a system in place that can more easily impeach them should their actions not reflect the will of the people.
