As frustrating as that would be, it wouldn’t be permanent I know they’re very serious with backups. A roll back is annoying but not really that damaging.

Thanks! Now I get it.
I ended up just starting over…
I’m sorry, that went over my head… i’m as new at this as you can be…
i don’t see the database mentioned in that file
LEMMY_HOSTNAME=“atosoul.zapto.org”
CF_API_TOKEN=“”
BUILD_FROM_SOURCE=“false”
SETUP_SITE_NAME=“AtoSoul”
###############################################################
###############################################################
CADDY_HTTP_PORT=80
CADDY_HTTPS_PORT=443
USE_EMAIL=“false”
CADDY_DISABLE_TLS=“false”
POSTGRES_POOL_SIZE=“5” TLS_ENABLED=“true” SETUP_ADMIN_USER=“lemmy” LEMMY_NOREPLY_DISPLAY=“Lemmy NoReply” LEMMY_NOREPLY_FROM=“noreply”
i’m so sorry but i still don’t understand…
root@laptop:/home/rain# docker exec -ti lemmy_postgresql_1 bash
Error response from daemon: No such container: lemmy_postgresql_1
here is the guide i followed that got me to this point… and then i checked that box with out understanding what i was doing…
Thank you for your response, but can you explain like I’m five? Lol
I don’t know what you mean by connect to my database, I’m really new to this stuff, this is all really above my head.
I’m glad that helped!
It’s actually pretty straight forward once someone takes the time to explain it. I’ll try.
These ! Links are supposed to be universal I think. !futurama@lemmy.world
Then there’s the long URL, https://lemmy.ml/c/futurama@lemmy.world
First you start with your instance then /c/ just like Reddit did with r/ it means you’re looking for a community, then an @ to target another instance.
In this example I started at lemmy.ml told it I was looking for a community, then told it where the that community lives in this case lemmy.world
When searching for a community by URL use the website only. No apps currently support it yet I think.
Edit: you can also just do it in the URL like this
This is really interesting. But how well does it actually work? I’m attempting a personal server on a Raspberry pi right now but the compiling is taking a huge amount of time.
I have no idea what cross compiling is but I’m open to trying it.
I’m thinking that I should probably let it ride. Maybe it’ll work. It’s not like I’ve got better plans for that little computer.
I wish I could. The whole computer is completely frozen! Just the mouse will nudge a little very very slowly. I don’t think I can get another terminal open. And yes it’s very slow hardware. It’s a raspberry pi 3.
I’m not sure. I know lemmy.ml has been up and down ever since the Reddit blackout.
I leaned no one on Lemmy are as helpful as they seem. Nor as nice… I gave up on trying to run my own instance… My life is too busy and hard to find time for this anyway…
