A card grabber disguised as a game to me
Thanks!
It would have been a lot easier to generate a fresh UUID for every record, but that means storing it. And we would have a unique sequential id alongside a unique UUID, two different keys for the exact same data. It is doable, afterall it’s just an additional 128bits for every record, but for the sake of it I wanted to not store an additional ID and be able to compute the UUID on the fly from the base sequential ID.

Forums really have to get back in the world. I’m trying to ditch discord and move everyone to GitHub discussions for a project (have removed all invite links, just using it for me as a « webhook monitor »). Some people are still there when they have questions on how to use the project (because they prefer speaking in French rather than English).
You need an apple device for it to render correctly
I was thinking more like just having dockers on macOS
But running a Linux like asahi is an option
Joke on them, I don’t read ads!
How does that go battery wise?
Yes, alas C++ is fun, but very quirky. Perhaps too much. For big (new) projects I wouldn’t recommend it. People are trying to fix it but it’s hard and without breaking old features I don’t think it will be possible to make it better and improve it even more.
I use a plain 34 keys layout based on qwerty for letters, comma/dot/semicolon. The numpad and symbols layers are handcrafted so that every symbol is easy to reach, it’s also optimize to type things like <- and -> easily
Thanks!
I won’t lie, I went with a Lisp like syntax because it was the easiest one to parse, so that I could focus on the funny bits like the compiler and virtual machine.
Fine thanks! This might be another reason for me to finally switch to an iPhone
This isn’t selfhosted but you can use uptime robot. They can send regular http get requests or ping an IP or URL, the free tier can have like 10 monitors I think? I receive an email when an host isn’t available, in 5 minutes usually.
That’s my point, maybe it wasn’t clear enough. I think people that need to transfer a lot of data often to and from their phone can justify taking the Pro model (photographers, video makers, etc)
Do you really use USB-C to transfer data or to charge your phone? It’s been years since I used it for data, so I don’t think that’s a problem, in a world where cloud is becoming the norm.
I prefer the pro as it has more power and active heat dissipation through fans. Otherwise you said it, they are pretty much the same.
There is still the journal you could use to recover the old state of your database. I assume you commited after your update query, thus you would need to copy first the journal, remove the updates from it, and reconstruct the db from the altered journal.
This might be harder than what I’m saying and heavily depends on which db you used, but if it was a transactional one it has to have a journal (not sure about nosql ones).
Luckily the GB(A) consoles are the easiest to mod nowadays, to add backlight, rechargeable battery, better audio… IMHO this is still the best way to enjoy GB/GBA games, instead of emulators which can be buggy/force me to stay on the computer (or worse, on my phone)
Funny playing IPS v3 and shell+buttons (for IPS), clean juice rechargeable battery. They both have guides and that’s the only thing I needed.
People always make it such a huge deal but that has been pretty normal, since Microsoft owns GitHub we have had a t least 2 if not 4 outages per month.
