First Past The post voting artificially limits the number of political parties to two. This allows the legacy political parties to run incredibly weak candidates since there is no competition in the electoral system.
With a more representative voting system (much like Ranked Choice voting) people would be free to vote for the person that best represents them, while still counting their vote if that candidate doesn’t win.
Because you have to beat trump since the democrats are cowards and can’t even lock up someone for inciting a rebellion.

The answer is you want to build a train route through a mountain. You don’t need it, thus we don’t have to build it.
I was under the impression that the nation state should be dissolved and everyone forms communes that reflect their values.
Direct democracy can work way better with smaller communities.
The problem is, you would need a large federation of these communes to band together to defeat a hostile nation state level threat.

Start The War on Landlords. Declare the housing crisis a national security threat, build housing till every landlord commits suicide.
Stop bending the knee to the for profit house building corporations. Stop protecting the status quo because it doesn’t work for everyone. Stop making excuses for this way of life that has only been around for not even a thousand years yet. Stop acting like how things are are inevitable.
AND, electoral reform. I distinctly remember Canadians being promised electoral reform! Where the fuck is it? How about you get to vote for a kick in the nuts or a kick in the face? Sound fair? No? What’s wrong YOU HAVE A CHOICE! Feeling free yet?
