If you use a VPN, change your country and see if that affects the content you’re offered. I’m in Manchester according to my VPN, and Netflix is offering me tons of British sitcoms and dramas, shows not available in my home country.
OP, have you watched:
Hmm. Is this supposed to be affecting everyone using Firefox with adblockers? I just played a video on FF with uBO. Worked fine for me with no delays. Maybe because I searched for the video using DDG and watched it via DDG (meaning I did not click through and watch it on YT)?
You want to buy a mattress encasement AND a box spring encasement to cover both. An encasement surrounds and seals in the mattress/ boxspring. A topper just covers the top.
Make sure you buy the correct size (too loose is less helpful). If you have a futon, buy an encasement specifically for a futon.
I’m not in Canada but childcare for our two children when they were little was $24k/year. I’d imagine its more like $30k/year now. We did not go overboard and buy the latest fad this or that, and used tons of hand me downs, but we absolutely needed childcare so that we both could work. Their afterschool, once they were old enough for public Elementary school, was around $10k/year for the two of them.
Does Canada provide free childcare? Would a couple, with each making $35k/year, qualify for free childcare? Otherwise I don’t see how $30k would cover one child from 0-12 years.
This is the sign you were looking for to get off of dating apps.
Does the couple have a gift registry?
I’m not sure about this (I use NP on an Android phone) but the clever folks on the Divided by Zero instance on Lemmy should be able to get you sorted.
Newpipe + Sponsorblock.
I don’t coddle them, but I want them to feel secure and confident in talking to me.
I think it’s ok to coddle them every once in a while. You won’t spoil them if its occasional.
!fediverseobserver would you happen to know?
"…my father came to America at the age of 12 as a plumber’s apprentice. No education.”
“I went to public school in the Bronx, high school in the Bronx, college in the Bronx. I started my career in Wall Street the day after I got my MBA from Columbia. I had no money. I couldn’t afford a vacation. I made a lot of money. I’m giving it all back…
I’m imagining the cost of living that allowed his father to live on the salary of a 12 year old who worked as a plumbers assistant. I’m also imagining that this billionaire probably went to Bronx Science (a free public school now where attendees likely have paid for test prep to do well on the entrance exam, out of reach for a lot of NYC public school students). If he went to college in the Bronx, it was likely Fordham - the 2023 cost of attendance (tuition plus fees and books) is now $89,575. For an MBA from Columbia, their cost of attendance (which includes room and board) is now $127,058 in 2023.
He cannot make the connection that COL and earnings have grown exponentially since the time his father was 12, yet wages haven’t. Does he not see that very few students would be able to go to private universities for undergrad and grad schools and service their debt with current wages? How many graduate and immediately start working on Wall Street? He’s probably against WFH, too, solely seeing the benefit to his commercial real estate portfolio and ignoring the commuting costs and work life balance issues for the workers. The world capitalism gave him and his father is gone. At this point it’s as real as ghosts and dreams. We are dealing with the current world that capitalism has given us, a capitalism that only a billionaire would cry over.
I can’t remember where I first heard about using SA to help with body odor but at some point I found this article. I’ve occasionally used acids that I had on hand like lactic, mandelic, or glycolic (I use then to exfoliate my face or body periodically). But SA works so well and is gentle enough to use twice a day, so I stick with it.
I currently use Dermaharmony 2% SA soap (@$7 on Amazon) and Stridex XL pads for face and body (@$4 also on Amazon, 90 pads IIRC) - I picked the cheapest products that work for me. I’ve used Cerave SA face wash, Alba Botanica SA face and body scrub, different kinds of Korean facial toners, and different brands of SA treatment pads. I think any SA products with 2% SA will work.
Please reply in the future to let me know if it works for you. It’s certainly cheaper than Lume! ETA: If you want to stick with mandelic acid, you could buy a bottle of it from The Ordinary and use a few drops a day. It would be much cheaper. Other companies probably also sell mandelic acid serum.
Please post your results!
If you don’t want to smell, yet don’t want to use a deodorant, I highly recommend using a salycitic acid (SA) product on your armpits. It will kill the bacteria that causes body odor, prevent ingrown hairs, help with inflammation and hyperpigmentation, and it is inexpensive (you can find it in a lot of acne products aimed at teens and young adults, so they are affordable). I use a SA bar soap on my pits in the morning and use a Stridex pad in the evening. I have no armpit odor anymore after making these changes. I use deodorant occasionally for the scent, but the SA is doing the heavy lifting. It won’t stop you from sweating, however,.since it’s not an antiperspirant but I find i don’t mind so long as I smell good.
I don’t think he said what he was using the ingredient for so it’s hard to suggest one.
I, too, wanted to know the recommendation he was given. I’m nosey!
My takeaway is Ohanian is a good guy (also based on other things I’ve heard about him).
¿Por qué no los dos?
You can try NewPipe, which is free. IIRC I downloaded it from F-Droid. Maybe someone else can reply and confirm that’s the best place to get it.
