It is definitely just Bluetooth. Works exactly the same way it worked with AirPods before they added ultra wide band
Parcel (all platforms): the best shipment tracker you’ll ever use
Solves (all platforms): it’s basically identical to the built in calculator but is 1,000,000x better
Music Library Tracker (iOS, iPadOS): keeps track of the change in your Apple Music library and can automatically make a spatial audio playlist for you
Mlem (iOS, iPadOS): the best Lemmy client
Vinegar (all platforms): a Safari extension that makes YouTube use the native video player, adds PiP for free and removes ads!
Baking Soda (all platforms): replaces custom video players in other sites with the native one
Crouton (all platforms): a natively built recipe manager. I don’t use it much but it’s really well made
MacWhisper (macOS): uses openAI’s whisper model to create super accurate transcriptions of audio and video files
Monitor Control (macOS): allows you to control the brightness of external monitors (other than Apple’s)
Calipers Tape Measure (iOS): a super accurate set of Calipers for your iPhone
Cric Pulse (iOS): the only cricket app with live activities
I cannot recommend Crouton enough https://apps.apple.com/app/id1461650987
All this means is that it’s opt out, rather than opt in. They’re not saying that there’s no way to disable it. In fact there’s already a way to disable it
As far as I’m aware, on the App Store, reviews only count for the platform that you review on. So if you go look at an iOS app on the Mac App Store, you’d see different reviews than that same app on the iOS App Store. Presumably, it would be the same here
I completely agree. I downloaded ARC, opened it, and promptly deleted it
Wdym “active notifications”? Do you mean live activities? Those have been a thing since iOS 16
This is an app clip suggestion based on your location. Siri suggestions can suggest things based on many factors such as location, time of day, recent apps, etc. These suggestions can be things like opening an app or texting someone. All of that processing is done on your device. As I said, this is for an App Clip based on your location. An app clip is like a mini app designed to do one single task. For instance, an app clip might be for paying for fuel at a petrol station. App clips are designed to be extremely small so you can download it quickly and easily and the delete them when you’re done. So in summary, you’re seeing a Siri suggestion to download an app clip that is linked to that nearby church. It’s probably some touristy thing. You can change all of your Siri suggestion settings under Settings > Siri & Search
It’s so annoying lol. I see absolutely no reason why I couldn’t have my Medicare card in the wallet app
I don’t think the reason has anything to do with custom fitting. Apple has stores all over, just like in the U.S. I reckon the main issue is Sony being unable to produce more than 400,000 headsets worth of displays in year one which naturally makes an international release difficult
There is not
They’re actually adding shared playlists in iOS 17.1 (finally). As for playlists, I think it’s just up to your own preference
Oh, well it definitely feels like it’s using Swift UI for the majority of the UI (although not all, as I said). Regardless, great job on Memmy!
Edit: after taking a closer look at Bean (which I should’ve done earlier lol), it looks like Apple’s UI is only really used in the menus and pop-ups of Bean. That’s pretty embarrassing but oh well lol. If you’re looking for proper full swift with swift UI, Mlem is the way!
Definitely +1 for Mlem. It’s my main. I’d also like to give Bean a shoutout! While it’s not entirely Swift IU (far as I can tell), it’s way more Swift than Memmy and just as if not more feature rich!
Give Mlem a shot. It’s on the App Store and has a fully optimised iPadOS app
It’s on the App Store but even that version isn’t native (written in Swift with Swift UI) as far as I can tell
It is. But this one will just go on forever. Not entirely sure what the point of having a station and a playlist is 🤷♂️
I’m simply stating what I see and that it’s disappointing. Not sure how that can be seen as cynical or pessimistic
I don’t see what’s wrong with having the option. If it’s a setting, then people like you don’t have to turn it on. And people who want to see the main part of an image on their smaller display can so that too. It’s a win win
