If you’re spending upwards of $1000 on a few days you’re probably rich.

Had they every met before? If cats grow up together of course they’ll be nicer/more familiar.
I just check 1337x’s trending torrents for movies and TV most days when I turn my computer on. Works well enough for me unless it’s a much smaller show. I didn’t notice What We do in the Shadows was back for 3 weeks because not enough people DL it for it to be in the top 100.
Unfortunately, that’s really not how it works. The masses don’t care. Just like Netflix profits increased after the crackdown, most people just use the Reddit app and don’t give a fuck.
Tbh, with how small lemmy is, it’s really not got much draw for most people. I still miss the long conversations and multiple comments. I’ve only seen like 50 comments on here at best.
I’ve only got a out 1.5tb but if I ditched Netflix I’d need to download 10+ shows with hundreds of episodes. I’ve already got a few 6+ season shows on my Plex but it’s mostly 1-2 season newer shows because everything has segregated so much in the past few years. If you don’t have Disney+ and want to see all the marvel shit, it’s adding up quick. It’s not like I’m rewatching all this stuff, I have 300 movies and rewatch one or two maybe once a year. I just keep everything because it’s not very expensive to me. If I need more space I’ll drop £100 and have storage for the next 5+ years.
Then there’s the people who download 25gb 4k movies and shit, I will occasionally but I don’t like to do it.
I sub for the skip intros alone, turns out it affects everyone who watches on your server which is great.
I don’t really utilise any other aspects of Plex Pass but £4 isn’t much to me and Plex is insanely useful to me.
It’s probably a case where Russia could attack Poland’s forces in Belarus but attacking Polish soil would involve article 5.
Block the Reddit community then lmao, you’re walking into a strip club then complaining about seeing boobs.
It’s interesting to follow Reddit’s downfall from afar imo. It’s already happening us caring is just us tracking what’s happening.
Why wouldn’t you want more engagement with lemmy? If people leave Reddit they might come here and grow communities/content which this place sorely needs.
Podcasts on what? I listen to most of my podcasts on YouTube so sponserblock takes care of that.
Have you tried listening to them on YouTube? I find most people I want to listen to upload them there too.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Piano/keyboard is super easy, use a marker to write the notes on the keys and then it’s just doing what any YouTube video tells you to do.
Sure, if you’re studying the effects of social media, you’ll have to go on it. That’s not what we’re talking about though. Kids aren’t needing to communicate through social media with other “researchers” at school. Not sure why you’re equating school children to scientist doing actual first hand research, school projects are almost always second hand information, from the research papers, even if they’re about social media.
But let’s not kid ourselves, 99% of what students used YouTube for was timewasting. I didn’t like it when I was at school but I recognise blocking YouTube was easier than monitoring every kids computers at school to make sure they’re working.
They’re meant to be using link aggregators like Google Scholar to find papers, not Facebook. Definitely not TikTok.
And idk what it’s like in your country but the vast majority of research for school here was done at home for homework, where you can watch all the “lectures” you want. Kids just look at dumb shit when they’re at school so they don’t have to work. They also don’t have time to be watching hour long lectures in class. You really don’t need access to social media sites at school.
Imagine thinking I’m on a high horse because I understand kids like wasting time. Give me one good reason someone would need to use TikTok for school purposes. XD
I’m not sure when you graduated, but YouTube has never and will never be considered a valid source. You need to be looking at research papers, studies, newspaper articles and shit. At best the YouTube video might have sources in it’s description and then you reference those sources, not youtube.
You’re talking like you’re not still a teen, your teenage years have been the only years you’ve been able to change.
Time wasting sites like YouTube or TikTok have been blocked in schools for as long as I can remember.
Nope.
You don’t need to port forward or anything for Plex to work outside your network, right? That’s the whole point of Plex. All my friends can access my server wherever.
Maybe it’s just me but I see a thumbs up as sarcastic more than sincere. Like an “ok buddy, whatever you say”.
I’m sure some middle class people can afford to go to burning man. But you’re being wilfully ignorant if you think burning man isn’t catered to the rich. It’s almost purely a status symbol event. It’s definitely where people go to show off their lavish wealth and take pictures for Instagram. I’m pretty sure if they took a survey 80%+ would be wealthy people.
I’m middle class, and I’m spending a couple hundred dollars on my holiday this week, I almost can’t fathom spending thousands living in a tent in a desert.
But you’re right, the middle class has been eroded. What was considered middle class in 1970 would be rich today. That’s just because most people are worse off financially.
