Having a job is fine. Having something that gives you purpose is actually healthy for you. But I guess it depends what you do and you need to work for someone nice. It is the mandatory part and the “squeezing every penny out of you” part that sucks most.
Also, switching jobs when it gets tedious might be a good plan. Make sure to stick around for a couple years though, or else they’ll see on your CV that you won’t stick around long enough to be worth the effort.
I have a new phone since a week or two. I really miss my previous autocorrect. It was perfectly honed to my liking. Now it’s just generic bullshit that completely misses the point of my artistic freedom. However, I’m full on re-educating that mf right now. It is on the recieving end of my wrath. Christian gay conversion camp therapists could learn a thing or two from my resolve.
Don’t change. It’s much more fun this way
Those who don’t learn history are doomed to repeat it. Thanks for the quick lesson
Yes, it’s good to realise that lemmy is just as much an echo chamber as reddit is. Same echoes, differnet voice. But don’t you dare actually having a different voice, that will not be appreciate. People want to have discussions, but only with yes men.
I’m sorry, I did not put this in the right words. I thought I already deleted the comment. But no yes yes.
A LOT of people pay for that. I was flabbergasted as well. Why would you pay for a free service? This feels like buying premium bottled tap water and they don’t even bother to filter out the chlorine and the heavy metals.
I live it when a plan… falls apart
Yesterday I half read a Dutch (paywalled) article about the German tech enterpeneur Peter Thiel (paypal). Who was boasting about not caring about politics much, but that it was very convenient to have your own man at the top (jd vance). He claims to not believe in democracy or death (that’s the title)
I was thinking… dafuq are people like this even doing in politics and who let’s them have a say in politics? This is such a clear cut case of moneyoracy instead of democracy, it’s almost comedic.
The article, for those who care: https://fd.nl/bedrijfsleven/1531173/techinvesteerder-achter-jd-vance-gelooft-niet-in-democratie-of-de-dood
Not gonna happen. They’ll just re-lube the old condom while Reddit rapes them again.
Your comment has 127 points. Would be funny if mine has 0, the comment below mine too, but than someone has 1 point.
Anyways. How are you doing today?

It’s killing his plan for a fifth mega yacht
Genocide is perfectly fine. I think they’ve made that pretty clear over the last couple years.
If you are or ever become a mother, you’ll be smegma
I think it was amusing. A relic of a simpler time
To me, Java feels nice and homely. Like coming home to your family over Christmas. Of course your parents aren’t quite with the times any more and a bit racist, which always makes for a nice discussion with your sister’s Hispanic husband. And there’s always uncle bob, who gets way too drunk and starts hitting on your wife. Your sister usually tries to get you to invest in her latest MLM scheme and the food tastes like seasoned cardboard. But it’s always warm and welcoming. Luckily it’s only for the holidays.
This is a lot of fun. I work for a small university that has a software development course and a cyber security course. Every once in a while we pair some of the brighter students so the cs guys and girls can try to hack the sd projects. They always succeed, but it’s always a very fun lesson for both parties.
