Sick burn and true, we have so few comments that we read all of them anyway.

Ultimately, it’s supposed to be used to make post/comments less visible, for whatever reason.
There aren’t that many. A good chunk of us here are Linux nerds. You don’t have to be condescending about confronting (I assume) intentional misinterpretation of comments.
I suppose, at this point, I want to understand whether you accidentally misinterpreted the context of the original comment (downloading .exe from TPB) or intentionally misinterpreted it for “comedic effect”.
So is your point to argue semantics?
“Downloading” colloquially referes to the proces of saving some data onto persistent storage device. When you open HTML pages they are loaded directly into RAM. They might be saved to drive if they are cached. But no regular person would refer to that process as downloading. Even I, as a webdev, don’t.
In that case your comment doesn’t make much sense, because when people say “don’t trust that torrent site” they mean the contents of the torrents hosted there. In fact, if you use magnets, you don’t download anything at all from torrent sites ever.
Don’t you ever pirate software?
Arstechnica.
Edit: for those not understanding the joke, arsenic (As) is another toxic metal.
It’s of course subjective, but usually applies to 15-20 years old things, depending on context. PS3 is now considered retro, for example.
I’m aware of that, it actually was originally planned for SNES, but got cancelled. This board game, however, is clearly based on newer Rayman Origins/Legends release, which I thought to be modern-ish. Until I checked the release date and saw it’s 12+ years old now. So even the most recent Rayman game is retro💀
Ohno… Rayman is retro now 👴🏻
You’re clearly just trying to pick a fight, but care to point out what I said wrong?
Sure, however you choose to call it, it’s not “original hardware”.
It’s still emulation. Yes, it’s emulating hardware, as close as possible and often indistinguishably close, but it’s still emulation.
For example, my EDGB X7 runs fine on any real Game Boy I have, but can’t switch games on an Analogue Pocket.
Another weird issue that I had was that if I launched my Pokemon Crystal save on Pocket it would, for some reason, permanently change my character from a boy into a girl (without saving the game!). This wasn’t happening on my Game Boys (I restored the save a couple of times to test it).
I’m starting to wonder if the fact that most upvoted NSFW posts on Lemmy being femdom(-y) is some kind of indicator.
Usually I recognize the gonewild regulars on Lemmy by their body parts. I recognize you by your smile.
This says a lot about society, or something, IDK.
Our thighs!
Stop this capitalist propaganda! (/s)
Yeah, I mean, sort by controversial is there for a reason.
