So it worked and he gave it to you, and when it arrived at your place it no longer worked? I’d try checking that all the internal cables are connected properly; one of them may have jostled loose in the journey.

Are you getting any POST codes?
In response to customers’ complaints about its security measures, Loblaw, Canada’s largest grocer, has repeatedly said that organized crime is to blame. “This surge in organized retail crime remains a significant problem for the retail industry,” said Loblaw CFO Richard Dufresne during a conference call in late 2023.
Didn’t they find that there hadn’t been a surge in retail theft, that the “report” it was based on combined every source of shrink - including employee theft, retail theft, writing off stuff that spoiled in the store whether due to improper storage or inability to sell, writing off stuff that the managers over-ordered or mis-ordered, stuff that was exposed to mice and rats, etc etc etc. And that basically the “surge in retail theft” was actually just a cover to make managers feel better about mis-managing their stores?
Last year, the U.S. National Retail Federation initially reported a startling statistic: Organized retail crime accounted for nearly half of the estimated $94.5 billion US that retailers lost due to missing merchandise in 2021. However, the industry group retracted the claim eight months later, after it was revealed that the report was based on erroneous data.
Ah, yes, there it is. Funny how the corpos are still leaning hard on their discredited “report”.
Oh no, not threatening rich people’s yacht money!
Good - keep it up!
I hate to refer you back there, but there’s a dumpster diving subreddit.
And I don’t know what the schedule in the UK is, but here in the States, people are moving out of their dorms for the summer. If the schedule is the same and you can get over to your local university or college or whatever, you may be able to score not just food, but other things that people just don’t have the energy/ability to drag home.
A friend of mine used to offer end-of-termers $10 for their mini-fridges, clean them up in his shed over the summer, then sell them to next year’s freshers for $40-50. Even if you don’t have a car, you might find some small stuff you can clean up and resell.
This can only end well …
Troll OP is trollish, news at eleven. Bye, Felicia!
Rich people’s yacht money says what?
Second year in a row they did this. Last year they told a bunch of people they’d won ten grand.
Do you have more info on Sony?
The blue Fugates or Paul Karason?
Cosmic microwave background radiation - the remnants of the big bang.
That’s something the social platform was worried would happen, noting in its prospectus that retail traders in its subreddits (and particularly on r/WallStreetBets) could cause “extreme volatility” in Reddit’s share price.
I love how they’re blaming redditors instead of spez and his COO selling over a million shares …

spez doesn’t care, be just wanted the money for his doomsday bunker.
“I know there’s a ton of skepticism about Meta entering the fediverse — it’s completely understandable,” Cottle says. “I do want to kind of make a plea that I think everyone on the team has really good intentions. We really want to be a good member of the community and give people the ability to experience what the fediverse is.”
If I wanted Facebook shitposts and forwards from KlanMa, I’d’ve joined Facebook. And I don’t believe Meta has good intentions, I believe they want to overwhelm the fediverse, and I believe they want to make money. Middle-manager Cottle and their team may have good intentions, but corporate certainly doesn’t, and I certainly don’t trust their users.
I feel like something changed
He grew up a rich white boy in full-Apartheid South Africa. He’s never grown up (Tesla models S,3,X,Y! Tesla fart noises! 42069 amirite!).
Nothing changed, he just got bored and started interacting with the poor’s and people noticed the person he really was.
It was pretty obvious that Trump would try to scam Musk. Fortunately, given his own difficulties, Musk was unlikely to agree - we’re just fortunate these bills are coming due so far in advance of the election. And also that, given Musk’s foreign birth, he’ll never be eligible to be president or vice president (something that I’m sure sticks in his craw).
It’s possible Trump will win again. And even if he doesn’t, he’s not the only threat. There’s so the emboldened MAGAts, a resurgent white nationalist / neo-Nazi / christofascist movement being weaponized, an unapologetically corrupt Supreme Court, a Republican party that’s too scared of their own voters to do their job, a heavily militarized and intolerant police force, and plans to forcibly re-make the country with the next Republican president.
