The Republic of China gets to choose its own leaders but the PRC is a dictatorship not chosen by the people. That means that the ROC speaks for millions more Chinese than the PRC does.

The only possible terms of reunification would be the end of the Communist dictatorship. In such an event Taipei would likely be the initial temporary capital of a unified China because that’s where the experience of democracy is.

The only ‘peace deal’ would be surrender. They would be returning the attacks on mainland China. They could easily reach any coastal areas: Shanghai, Canton, Hong Kong etc.

And if you don’t like Kursk there are free accommodations at the Gulags.

I too have recently been perma-banned from reddit for nonsense.

I call then rando-bans. e.g. You were banned for violating unwritten rules, poorly interpreted rules, rules made up on the spot, or because the mod is having a bad day. Basically stuff where a warning would have easily sufficed.

You should call mods out when that happens as a public service. If I learn this happens a lot on certain subs I will stop using them even if it didn’t happen to me.

The real number of active users on average reddit subs is probably far less than 50% of reported numbers. I can imagine that every year the percentage of real vs reported subscriptions falls another 10% or so, as accounts are abandoned and rando-banned etc.

“They” == North Vietnamese propaganda. The actual facts are that colonialism ended 10 full years before the US sent troops to protect South Vietnam. This was a civil war, not a colonial war. Doesn’t apply at all here. The only ‘border’ they were fighting over was the border between North and South Vietnam. And that border was created by North Vietnam, not by any colonialists.

They were not fighting against capitalism, they were fighting for independence.

Both North Vietnam and South Vietnam gained their independence in 1954. So whatever they were fighting for in the 1960’s, it was definitely not “independence”.
