Oddly defensive response you have.
Literally 1 paragraph article and a tweet. Journalism?
Careful, Nintendo may send lawyers to your doorstep.
You know those surveys that ask if you Agree, Strongly Agree, Disagree, Strongly Disagree? That kind of crap? Yeah, those don’t work. They’re idiotic, because your average person doesn’t really know which accurately reflects them and they gravitate towards what’s easier for them personally to respond with.
This will have a similar effect. Lots of people won’t give the accurate reason. They’ll give a comfortable reason.
I like that they are trying something new though. Critique certainly doesn’t mean don’t try it or don’t play with it.

It’s not a formality. Continuing Resolutions (CR’s) and especially shutdowns can really affect people’s lives and society at large. People who require critical resources might wind up going without.
It also winds up costing the government more overall to go through this every year.
This appears to have decent information on why shutdowns are bad:

They still have not passed a budget.
People save Google places? Who the hell needs to save 3000 of them? Wtf
They add weird games. I don’t understand this service.
They improved it significantly since launch. I found myself loving the added features more than expected, like the Screenplay and Master Books they included.
I also loved the full videos of the digital graphic novels, and variants of MGS1, like the Japanese version and Special Missions, all in one place.
And on the PC versions, there’s a good amount of relatively easily installed mods on Nexus that can add a lot of value.
I pretty much replay most of the Metal Gear games every other year or so, so it was just another excuse to replay again on a new platform.
They won’t include Portable Ops, but they really should.
They stopped adding PS3 games years ago right when I subscribed for Sony. They can’t even just get all their first party titles on there. Fuck sony for so many reasons.
I think analogies pocket is attempting to replicate original hardware. You can plug in old games.
I like emulation cause I don’t need to keep physical games on me all the time or swap them out, and I get upscaling, save states, and fast forward. Emulation is way better to me.
This reminds me of my favorite website for demonstrating shitty designs.
Why not just get a Steam Deck and emulate everything?
Twitch Plays Pokemon was better.
If you buy someone’s services, then those services end at a point. You don’t own them or that service forever. That’s ridiculous.
I feel this phrase that took off grossly oversimplifies the issue.
The real argument is that games should be seen and treated as a good, not a service.
Assassin’s Creed 3 destroyed my original fat PS3.
The team that does their Steam ports just got done releasing Ys X. I suspect it’s a timing issue and it’ll just come later, but who knows. I’ll be watching for a Steam version.
