It would be a contraction of had: “I had better write…” Using would there doesn’t make sense.

I think that predictability is the crux of the surprise about her being charged. I don’t think I could say anything to start national riots. Maybe that isn’t true, but I would never assume that would be the consequences of one of my tweets. Who is this woman that she should have expected she had that kind of influence?
I think a lot of it was the charging network. What happened with that again? Oh yeah. He fired that whole team.
Is the vaccine for this available to most people?
I’m not familiar with mpox and I just finished the gauntlet of vaccines that is a kid’s first year and a half of life.
That comment isn’t saying it was consensual; it’s saying her age is what made it nonconsensual, so you can’t just ignore her age.
If adults talked about having sex, got drunk, and had sex, I don’t think people would generally consider it rape. That one of the people involved was 12 is what makes it absolutely rape and utterly disgusting.
No, because CrowdStrike didn’t bork the drivers for those systems. They could have, though.
I couldn’t give it up. My baby bump group and parents of multiples group are too valuable a resource. The general parenting sub on lemmy isn’t active, much less such niche things. The main alternative to them is Facebook groups, which I’m even less inclined to deal with than reddit.
The list of exemptions is a mile long at this point: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-29/subtitle-B/chapter-V/subchapter-A/part-541?toc=1
Basically if you’re an office worker who makes more than than 34k/year, you’re probably exempt.
Also chicken pox sucks. If they made a vaccine for hand, foot, and mouth, I’d get my kids vaccinated and that’s mild compared to chicken pox.
They accept trans boys, trans girls, and nonbinay kids. So they do allow some boys. Just not cis boys.
I think they allow male leaders because it’s hard to get people to volunteer for that position without even limiting to one gender.
The Girl Scouts absolutely do not accept cis boys.
Girl Scouts are secular. They’re completely different organizations rather than two branches of the same organization.
Canadians as a dogwhistle for what, dare I ask? Or was that part of what you refused to ask?
Generally, how DNA tests work is by selecting points in the DNA and comparing the two samples. The more points you compare, the more likely you have a true match. If you don’t compare enough points, or pick places in the DNA that are unlikely to have much variability across the population, you’ll get all matches on those points and say it’s a match. For paternity testing, you’re looking for ~50% matches.
Though, in this case, it does look like they were just making stuff up:
Richot said she was coached to ask women seeking prenatal paternity test kits about times in their menstrual cycles and the dates they had intercourse with different men — information that is useless for a DNA test.
Staff put the dates into an online ovulation calendar to narrow down the possible biological father, she said. Richot then entered the information into a form that went to Tenenbaum for signoff.
“[Tenenbaum] would always make a comment like: ‘It’s definitely this one [the biological father]. It’s this one, it’s got to be this one,’” said Richot.
What do you mean by specifically searching? Because it totally comes up for me.
It’s social disapproval; most people care about social approval–it’s human nature. When googling the question, Ican’t find scientific studies, but general conversation where pretty much everyone involved agrees that downvotes are at least disappointing and at can make people not want to participate.
You’re right. Notepad++ still lists macs as using CR for their EOL conversion tool, so I didn’t realize.
Windows uses CR LF (carriage return, line feed), whereas Unix just uses LF. For added fun, macs use CR.
I don’t think anyone here is disputing that it’s a war. They just want an acceptable, concise way to say “the part of the war where Ukraine brought the fighting into Russia.”
