I like dogs, indie games and free software.
You know, I’ve never thought about why they were called laptops. 🤔
It’s really cool for typing one-handed.
That’s exactly it, I use aria2 pretty much for parallel downloads (also to be able to resume them).
If a website asks me log in to continue I just leave.
You are very welcome! I use it with aria2, it’s opcional but recommended, in case you don’t want it you can strip the --external-downloader and -args part :)
yt-dlp is the way my friend, I got a command to download a specific playlist of mine every once in a while:
alias youtube-dl-playlist-guardar="yt-dlp -x -f bestaudio --external-downloader aria2c --external-downloader-args '-c -j 3 -x 3 -s 3 -k 1M' --ignore-errors --continue --audio-format mp3 'https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=_______'"

More like “alright chief, don’t care” from my experience.

Man, Christian is such an inspiration to me, what a great guy. I hope he has success in all of his future projects.
I only use Lemmy now as a daily app, I just use Reddit as a glorified backlog (to search for some tech problem, or some product buying recommendation). For better or worse, there is a lot of useful information in there, but I won’t actively engage with the website anymore.
Not a replacement per se, but I am just amazed by how much better some common FOSS apps feel in Linux compared to Windows. Apps like VLC, Calibre, FreeCAD, Libreoffice, hell even Firefox are so much smoother in a UNIX system, almost like THIS is their real home!
Just let it settle organically.
