Syncthing is your friend. Freetube stores playlists, history, settings and subscriptions as .db-files which you can sync between devices. Android version also allows access to these files if enabled in settings.

This is my solution also. I listen to audio books on my way to work, and read on an ebook-reader in the evening. Can be tricky to sync when the chapter structure is non-traditional though (e.g. Discworld).
I recently deleted my Meta-account, and I hope they will be a thing of the past in the not too distant future. Zuck can get fucked.
Depending on how diverse your taste is, you could always try to branch out to something outside of “similar artists”. Just look up genre names and start checking them out. If you find something you like, you can use the same " similar artists" approach on an entirely new search space.
Perfect, thanks!
They also said that XMP is not supported - does that change anything?
Have they been cross-posting 1:1 between Mastadon and the platform formerly known as Twitter so far?
The transfer I would assume is encrypted, but it is the files at rest I am interested in making sure is encrypted.
Interesting. Would require the use of some of the unsafe features, but at first glance it does look like this could work.

No, as I’d want it to be protected in the case someone gets a hold of the device in an unlocked state.
I found Syncthing very nice to work with, and successfully synced between my two device, so I would love to keep using it. But as it is now, I would have to sync the unencrypted files on both my devices. Not sure how it will behave if I try to sync the mounted drive on my computer, if the vault is locked.
Ok, thanks. I don’t want to name (and shame) them before they’ve had a chance to provide other options, and I’ve been happy with the support from them before. But I know it doesn’t help you help me. I’m pretty sure it is not integrated based on the way they describe it. I could try to open it later and see if I can identify it. A decade of Macbooks, and the prospects of opening a laptop seems scary somehow, even though I’m an engineer and have regularly opened up much more expensive equipment in my work… though not computer related.
Hm, I don’t see any IPv6 addresses anywhere, even on https://ipv6.ipleak.net/
Yeah, that is true - I didn’t formulate that quite well. This also happens to me when the kill switch is enabled, as it is disabled when I disconnect. However, it would not disable itself if I simply lost connection, which is in the case where I most want the leak protection. In the other cases, I could make sure to always quit qBittorrent before disconnecting from the VPN. Not ideal, as it would be easy to make a mistake.
From the way they describe it in their answers to me, it seems they believe the fault is in a subboard that can be replaced (although with the possibility of a fault in the mainboard as well). If it’s just connected with a ribbon connector, is that something you generally would be able to replace yourself? I might still end up having to send it in, but the wait time is in this very moment unbearable.
I do have a USB audio interface that I use when “docked” at my desk, and I use a headset when I am on the go (which is seemingly not affected at all by this, I suspect there is a connection to the speakers themselves that is affected). This is mainly a problem when using it somewhere else in my apartment, and especially in the sofa where it is moved a lot while on it.
tun0 goes away when I am disconnected, so I don’t think anything is keeping it open. I noticed that connections in Proton VPN were set to UDP, so I changed this to TCP and this seems to have worked. Will still want to do more testing to be sure.
I don’t seem to have v3 installed, by the way. The old GUI tool seems to have been uninstalled when upgrading, and the CLI tool I unisntalled myself.
How could I check this?
That is unfortunately not available in the Linux client.
I’m using the Torrent Address Detection tool, which I assume is checking the IP broadcast by my torrent client.
Freetube exists for Android also.
