If you already have a key attach it to a Microsoft account, then when you log in after upgrading and reinstalling it’ll activate. No piracy needed.
If Google wants to do that they don’t need to ask, they can just do it. The only way around that is to turn off Google apps ability to install apks. Probably all of their apps.
Why would you need to turn off Play Protect? It works fine.
Also if you’ve got more than one device save the patched apk so you don’t have to do the patching more than once.

Subscription apps are pretty common in the Apple ecosystem. Have you tried a different OS, Windows or Linux? You don’t even have to change anything to do so, you can run them in a virtual machine.

It depends on how much heat it’s actually making, but maybe if the factory job done was crappy. It’s probably thermal adhesive though which is harder to remove.
I see corrosion/deposits by those two leds and the hdmi… rinse it with vinegar, then DI water, then 90% alcohol. See if that doesn’t bring it back to life once it’s fully dry. You also might have to reflow the solder though.
Open it up and replace any electrolytic capacitors.
