Recent research has called the bystander effect into serious question. In 90% of observed real world circumstances intervention by bystanders occurred.

I know little to nothing about android, but it seems like even if we assume CMG code is in (say) all of Facebook’s iOS apps, each one needs permission to use the camera and microphone so if you deny that permission what CMG claims would be impossible. And while Apple certainly has a spotty record in enforcing App Store rules, I feel like they’ve got a lot riding on being absolutely certain that FB and Google and Amazon apps aren’t violating those rules because those are going to be on every researcher’s list of apps to test for privacy compliance.
“Hey babe, want to whack my birdie?” “Give me that shuttlecock!”
That’s real leadership right there.
My first thought seeing this headline was “I hope there’s a way both of them can lose.”
Yeah. It would be extremely questionable but still a little believable if the situation was “we met at a club that was supposed to be 21 and up and I thought she just looked young.” The reality is he traveled to another country to rape someone he knew was a child.
Well, Blanc White won’t do it now.
Defunding public media is not about the money the government spends on it. It’s about eliminating journalism that is not accountable to corporate power and money. The control the wealthy already exert over publicly funded media is never enough, people with the kind of money where control of the media is a possibility want to be able to fire a reporter who pisses them off personally.
Biden may very well not survive to the election. Plenty of people were raising concerns about his age and the physical and mental decline that were patently obvious four years ago, and were briskly told to shut the fuck up.
Run Harris. That’s the solution, because the democrats are allergic to actually cultivating new leaders.
Just to clarify your second statement, gaslighting is when person A tries to convince person B that person B did not see/hear/experience something that person B did in fact see, hear, or experience.
In OP’s situation, their girlfriend might be gaslighting OP if she texted “I’m getting an Uber home, see you in a bit” and then got mad and insisted she had told OP to meet her at the door.
All that said, I will echo many others in this thread and say that just because it isn’t gaslighting doesn’t mean OP is in a healthy relationship. OP, please insist on relationship counseling at a minimum.
Dave Chapelle had a whole bit about this before he decided to double (and triple, and quadruple) down on transphobia. He makes the very salient point that these things are delicious.
Melon with something savory is a widely popular choice. See: honeydew with prosciutto/parma ham and cantaloupe/honeydew with tajin (Mexican mix of savory spices.)
I like swapping them out but I wouldn’t do it all at once and I’d implement term limits that put them outside of a two-term president’s reach. I like 13 year Supreme Court terms because it’s a prime number and it would keep any one president from naming more than one or two justices.
Biden should appoint Cornel West and Bernie Sanders as two of the additional 4 justices.
My hot take is that a public life should mean a much reduced expectation of privacy. If you want to make decisions that affect millions (or billions) of people, those people should be able to see and hear everything you do outside of the most intimate necessities of life. E.G. you can poop without someone watching, but not much else. Don’t like it? Quit.
Did he actually defend that subreddit or is it more of a general “this happened and he didn’t do anything about it until he had no choice?”
Or, you know, a school. You know, where there are children? Maybe children who have physical limitations who have been called gimps?
Oh well, who cares about the educational environment and getting kids exposed to FOSS options instead of commercial software?
Yep. “Wow, you picked out a cool outfit” is another way to compliment actual work and creativity rather than genetic lottery winnings.
Same. The other day I mistakenly told a trans woman early in her transition “thank you sir” as a reflex and all that happened was she gently said “I’m not a sir” and we moved on.
I really appreciate hearing from someone who is actually in France.
Also, have the moderates in France completely failed to understand history? Moderates cozying up to the far right is how we got the Nazis running Germany.
