Let’s maybe not call it the final solution.

I agree with you but UKR may not have the luxury of triaging a bunch of people into non combat roles, and with regard to reaction under fire, I don’t think anyone really knows how they’re going to react in that situation until they’re in it. Even volunteers.
I’m not and never have been military, just my £0.02.
You almost made me snort peas.
Feature flags baby. This is how we do it.
Make it live but disabled, have an env prior to prod with them on, for any regressions.
Launching your already comprehensively tested and actually live feature? An easy deployment.
Can someone please tell me how to do this for the BE. Ta.
Bastard Operator From Hell
I refer to our sysadmin as a BOFH and he doesn’t seem to mind. The younger devs don’t know the term without googling it.
The sysadmin column feels so right.
He currently really likes locally copying people’s games from Scratch and modifying them in funny ways which he calls ‘hacking’ lol. He’s having fun so I’m happy for him to do what he likes so long as it’s age appropriate.
Your Mac has “recovery mode” in the firmware, it will often boot into recovery automatically if there’s something wrong with your boot disk
Oh really? Agh I just assumed incorrectly then. Thanks.
Thanks for the ‘more realistic’ intro to dev. I will be showing him CLI. And I think these are good steps. First though I want to give him the opportunity to learn the ‘thinking/design/problem-solving’ element of programming.
Great suggestions. I’m tempted to get a Chat GPT sub myself.
Hah yes we try and ‘balance’ it all. He’s a voracious reader, loves his rugby and we try and get out of the house as much as possible when it’s not continuously raining, thanks Britain.
Amazing thanks so much. Yes, structured ‘play’ might be just what he’s after. He can then tinker in an IDE - I did wonder if anyone had built one for kids specifically.
I can teach him a bit of CLI / Shell and I’m ok if he bricks the computer, hence the choice of OS. Super easy for me to nuke and start again.
I’ll be checking these out.
Ok flame away, as clearly I’m going to be downvoted to oblivion or banned, but:
I read just now on the BBC that most of the casualties were due not to gunfire, as all the posts suggest, but to the aid Lorries driving over people in what seems like scenes of chaos and probable panic… and this is from a news outlet that leans to the left.
I’m not pro Hamas or IDF but I feel like (deserved or not), if what the Beeb say is true, then we’re allowing ourselves to get carried away here.
Seriously why now.
How would you reflow the solder?
With an iron? Or a heat gun? What would be the best approach for something like this with lots of tiny surface mounts?

Happened to me on a recent trip to a country well known for crime.
Your luggage is lost sir, you’ll have to fill in a form.
My luggage is about 15m away behind that wall. Here, see this map. Go get it.
10 min later: Oh your luggage is here sir. Terribly sorry.
Not sure if incompetence or shenanigans but I got my luggage back.
Thicc and spicy. Just do it.
So did I. Pub near the Cenotaph in London by any chance?
You should be proud. It’s a beautiful country.
Also… am I being an eejit or do the pics not rotate to landscape? Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Tsar right to know if he’s compromised.
