Would be interesting to see what sort of use case would SSO have on lemmy. Maybe (non public) internal lemmy instances?
One more reason to add to my hate list for kubernetes

Maybe it’s not as essential as one is led to believe. The book Debt by David Graeber deals with the very question you asked. I highly recommend you check it out.
I can’t really summarise it well since I haven’t finished it myself, so maybe peruse the Wikipedia entry. But the first couple of chapters try to answer your question
And how many users are in your ldap config?
Pretty sure it integrates with Jitsi, so that’s one option for calls
Could you expand a bit more on the LDAP part? I’m thinking of rolling something like that myself but not sure if it’s worth it
Also the state of encryption is abysmal. It seems to be constantly experimental/beta. I vaguely remember them talking about launching E2EE at like nextcloud versions 16 or something, but it seems flaky even still :/
There’s already a patch for comments in the release candidate for the new version
Never underestimate the power of sunglasses

Just think about them real hard
Heard good things about porkbun with ddclient
Oof, what is happening. I feel like ever since fmovies went down, there’s been a barrage of more shutdowns. :(
