Maybe if I had given it a real chance and started following a few more people, I might have had a much better experience. My feed was filled with random stuff that I was never going to have any interest in…
Yea I tried threads recently myself & had the exact same problems. I followed like a total of 3 people, yet my feed was filled with utter crap that I wasn’t the slightest bit interested in…
I hadn’t logged into my Twitter account in over a year. When I finally did recently, I simply shared a link to my Mastodon account. A few days later, I went to check a Twitter link, only to find my account had been banned…

Thank you for pointing out this app 🙏👍
Never tried bandcamp, but will have to try it out soon…
I try to buy all my music directly from the artist in CD form whenever possible. Whenever that’s not possible, I try to get a version that I can save locally & play offline…
Well you all done an excellent job 👍👏
Fuck em…
Just buy music directly from the artist whenever possible…
Again I’d just like to thank you for all the hard work you & all the other devs are putting into working on fixing everything that broke with this upgrade…
The update has broken a bunch of things for me…
On my desktop using firefox, I cannot get images to display & everything is slow to load. On my android phone, boost was showing me a ton of stuff that I do not follow & wasn’t showing me any info about my profile (profile tab would not load or something). Boost eventually logged me out & I have been unable to log back in…
Cheers for all of the work you Devs have put in…
You should totally go ahead and do it. It will be totally worth it…
I never even realised that. Thanks for mentioning it…
Haha, when I first moved into the house I’m living in now, my wife was never done tripping over my cable. I’d yet to mount it to the wall at that point…
Yea WiFi is definitely great for certain things, but not everything. My wife has friends over at the house from time to time, and some of them ask why I’d rather run a cable from the router to my computer instead of just using WiFi. It’s easy enough to explain, but because they are not all that technical, it’s hard for them to understand, I guess…
Let’s hope it never has to come to that…
I personally like ethernet because it’s so reliable & I’ve never had any problems. In my house WiFi can be so unreliable, whereas ethernet has been nothing but awesome…
Forgot to mention that
mpv
is how I actually watch the videos. Newsboat downloads a list from each channel kinda like an RSS feed. I can then select any video & download it by pressing a keybinding. It’s been a while since I last had to actually set this up, but off memory, here’s some quick info…The file
~/.newsboat/urls
contains URLs similar to the one below. Just replaceCHANNEL_ID
with the actual channel ID. You can find the channel ID in the URL of the channel’s page…With the URLs in place you can edit your newsboat config file to set up a key binding for downloading videos using
yt-dlp
. It should be as simple as adding something like the following to the config…This binds the
d
key to useyt-dlp
to download videos.
