Maybe if the doctors flee America when their health care system is destroyed they’ll come back to Canada and we can have some GPs, as a treat.

Thank you very much for this summary. Sadly I do feel some sort of understanding to a lot of Trump voters that genuinely thought they were making a good decision, and I think your summary reflects why people would feel that way. I 100% disagree with them, but I can understand their frustration and do see a lot of that reflected in Canadian politics as well.
I’m curious about the comment on Singh. As long as I’ve been following/supporting the NDP, I’ve always felt like they were more working class and really haven’t seen a whole lot of identity politics in their expressions. With the exception of maybe racism stuff, but I feel like given Jagmeet’s own (obvious) identity, this would be a central issue to him as a leader and to them as a party. I have seen them express in interviews about concerns for the working class many times otherwise.
PP and federal conservatives have already expressed anti trans sentiment so I won’t be surprised if it gets introduced into federal politics as well next election. We barely scraped by in BC to avoid the transphobic pos conservative leader this time around. I’m getting ready to fight.
Oh, also both major parties in BC wanted involuntary placement so that’s also well underway here too. Gotta love that :/
One thing that has helped me the teensiest bit is that even though he got the popular vote, he still got less votes than he did in 2020. It doesn’t help me to know that so many people were blatantly apathetic or misogynistic or whatever we’re blaming the lack of democratic votes on, but at least he got less votes than before.
It was on the ex-wife’s blog that was allegedly hacked. Something tells me it wasn’t hacked.
His response could’ve only been worse/better if he had said “sorry, I learned from my prime minister”.
Though at least JT acknowledged it was wrong lol
Also the fact that they kicked the indigenous reporter out, not just anti immigrant just good old fashioned racist. When we should be protesting also because cops have recently killed 6 indigenous people in the span of two weeks across Canada.
ACAB.
Also, if anyone is in BC, make sure you VOTE next month. The conservative leader is promising to give more funding to cops while taking away from “unnecessary government spending” (read: social programs).
*editing to correct my previous statement: they’ve killed 9 indigenous people since August 29
Yeah my sister went to India a few years back by herself and while thankfully nothing terrible happened to her, she said she would never go back. Just walking around she said the streets are majority men and they are not shy about staring at any woman (especially someone who was clearly a foreigner). Of course, parts of the trip were cool but definitely not the place to be travelling alone as a woman.
I was just over there by accident (not logged in) and yes they had the mega thread but literally every other post on that front page was about it. And many of them were not left leaning at all.
It’s hugely dependent on a lot of factors but what I can say for sure that’s helped for me personally:
I know veggies, even when they’re not local, are cheaper than a lot of processed food but not when we’re talking convenience and energy spent. Having the energy to prep and cook fresh produce, as well as a local market within walking distance have been the biggest factors for me.
I know I’m a pessimist but I feel like this is another one of those issues where we take the mask off and it’s just that monster capitalism underneath.
I’ve only ever seen Quora as a joke, I didn’t think people were actually getting good answers there.
Omg I guess I’ve been tricked. I had read that they were mostly in at least the US but now can’t find any evidence to support that. Gotta do my homework better I guess.
There’s one company that is making them that has customers all over north america but I guess it’s not as common as I thought. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/plastic-sticker-produce-ban-alternative-1.6844972
The stickers are compostable and edible already
Editing to say I’m a liar I guess, since I couldn’t find proof to back this claim and have just been eating plastic sometimes.
I’m not a finance expert but I feel like in the long run it’d be cheaper to raise the death benefit or subsidize cremation services than to build dead body storage facilities all over the country.
Yeah these mf-ers drank the No Name Cool Aid
"It doesn’t really make sense to me. I don’t understand what the motive is behind that. Why would anyone want to steal?” said Othman Ali, a regular shopper at Superstore.
Idk Othman, why don’t you ask your thief bestie Galen
Can someone point me the way of that bot or whatever that changes all your old Reddit posts before deleting them? I thought I had it saved somewhere but I can’t find it now and have no idea what it’s called.
I am a native speaker and can confirm, both of those words refer to a woman. The rest of the article correctly refers to the baby as la bebe.
Near me there are TONS of empty places, the developing is not the issue. Nobody can afford them. Hell I don’t even own and the place next to me sat empty for 3 months because it was going at an absurd rent for the size.
He’s right, the only thing more competitive is our telecoms. /s
Canada won’t go around calling out other people’s genocide when it can’t even recognize its own. Not in their (the govs) best interests.
