Please don’t take my comment as a light-hearted jab at the idea of school shooters. But rather, it’s a scathing commentary on fixing something like parking lots when children are dying. Maybe I didn’t do a good job of it but that was my intent.

Plus the kids will have trees to use as cover from shooters. I guess to avoid the packin’ heat Island effect?
I’m not sure it’s going to be that. That was the model for the last wave of tech advancement layoffs and job replacements. This one is going to be so much dumber.
It’s no secret that most companies are stagnant or losing money right now across the board. For many reasons, disposable income is way down, COVID mentality change (people decided they wanted to live instead of just consume), and products have just been getting worse. So, CEOs are using AI to replace jobs that AI cannot yet replace. It immediately makes their bottom line look better for investors while doing nothing useful. This will bite them in the ass soon but they’ll say AI was oversold and it’s not their fault. Meanwhile, they look like the nothing they’re doing to improve their company is working and will survive another day.
Not when it’s done badly. I believe there was one on the front page of Lemmy just this morning.
The trick is waiting for Boomers to die. This is where your nursing skills can really pay off…
My Unraid NAS and media server is called Madmartigan. The Proxmox server running Home Assistant, second Pihole instance and my bookmark manager and such is called Willow. My raspberry pi that I use for testing and such is called Brownie.
Farmers. Farmers’ mums.
Are you suffering from depression? Depression takes a lot of mundane memories away. If you work on mindfulness with some of these basic tasks like showering or cooking, you can improve the retention of your day’s events.
Same. I took some of the money I was paying for streaming services and paid for usenet and vip service opensubtitles. Black Friday hit and I got more usenet services which is great to have.
I like having the content but I was fine paying for legitimate services until they started trying to fuck me over.
How you felt, going bonkers, is roughly how many introverts feel being around people. So, the three years that introverts felt good in the history of… forever, many of us would like to keep that. I just ask that extroverts respect how shitty the workforce is especially for introverts and maybe try to get their social needs met in their personal life and not demand that work time also fit only their needs. At the expense of others.

I use tdarr on my gaming machine and use the higher end GPU to do the work. I also use the trash guide for getting the audio profile I want in my downloads. Then in tdarr, I strip away audio and subtitle languages I don’t want and use the highest quality audio source to add a simple 2 channel audio to make it more compatible for more devices. That way I’m not needlessly transcoding 5.1 Dolby for people who are just watching on TV audio.
I would check your router’s device table. See if you can find your nextcloud instance. It shouldn’t have a different IP given what you’ve done, but it still sometimes happens. Checking the router first will cut down your troubleshooting time.
New Zealanders have all that room after the elves left, so that makes sense.
I use Organizr and I think it looks and works great on mobile.
It’s a brilliant combo, imho. Jellyseer is wonderfully done.
I think you have to look for nginx in the swag search https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-swag
I don’t think I can recommend True NAS for beginners over Unraid. I started down this road about a year ago and did start with Truenas. The apps have been nothing but trouble for me and I’ve read similar from several others. I’m in the process of moving to Unraid now because of it as well as sharing permissions causing performance issues.
You’re right. I guess it just feels like painting a bursting dam to me. And the shootings are weighing heavier on me. I’m glad we’re doing something positive. It’s just hard to appreciate when my mental image of a school is fear and tragedy. It’s probably a me thing
