I like the New York times. I think people conflate their opinion section from their news coverage. Their opinion section skews liberal so people think the nytimes is liberal. But their news room is pretty center, and especially post pandemic they try to report news in a down the middle, it will do a more both sides stuff.

Only if he makes a deal with Dems which makes him (politically) a dead man walking. Most likely they will just run out the clock until November when there are new elections. Republicans have a two seat majority out of hundreds, they can’t do much without bipartisan support and that is not going to happen in this aggressive political atmosphere.

Brother laser printers are great. I get new toner for my laser jet twice each decade. Never had a problem. I press print, it prints. Only issue is pretty high current draw when it kicks on with my old house wiring. That’s about it.

Everyone always says the answer is that the “other side” stop being violent and be nice. It never happens. So my question to the liberals is, if being nice doesn’t work, what’s your answer to the situation? Have Israel disarm and let Hamas murder Israelis with impunity? Have Hamas disarm and have Israel settle palistine with impunity? It’s been 70 years of this. And by 70 I really mean about 7000.

This is a big deal. Amazon has cornered a lot of markets. It will take like 3 years to sort out, but the beginning for sure.

One thing that still heartens me is that the right so abhors violence still (especially against the police) that there is a rampent conspiracy that all the violence at Jan 6th was staged Antifa actors not right wingers. So that’s good that the instincts are not that violence against the police is good.

At some point polling becomes unassailable. Things could change but it seems impossible that one of these candidates gathers enough groundswell to upset Trump. Most of the people on stage are already known to Republicans except for vivek so there’s not a lot of room for growth, and given that Trump sets the tone of what is important for republicans he’s always going to be on the right side. I don’t see any world in which the number of Republicans who dislike Trump goes from 15 percent to 60 percent.
