We really don’t. We can barely make it to orbit. Boeing is failing at even doing that.
It’s like saying your grandpa can climb Mount Everest because he can shamble to the local tesco. It’s not even close.

We can land corpses or soon-corpses on Mars sure. Getting people there and back reliably and in good shape is going to be extremely difficult if not completely impossible. And the benefit is near zero.
I honestly don’t think any wetware human will ever land on Mars or even enter its orbit.
We’ll be posthuman cyborgs before that happens.
Even if so, a Chinese CEO pays taxes in China and re-invests the profits in Chinese companies.
At least if you order from China you’re supporting the people doing the work, rather than some shitty western bundler like Apple or Dell.
“Unveiling”
Guys it’s gonna look exactly the same as the last 10 iPhones.
It’s disgusting how we allow companies to sell essentially e-waste just so they can enrich shareholders a bit more.
The transfer of housing from end users (or even “mom & pop” landlords) to institutional investors results in communities being reduced into yield generating assets. As a consequence, prioritization of wealth extraction occurs without regard for long-term sustainability, leaving communities vulnerable to shock.
Why are “mom & pop” landlords excluded? They are by far the worst. Greedy, anonymous, capricious, deluded fucks. I’ll take an “institutional” landlord with a reputation to uphold any time.
Indeed. Until they a bit too popular and then miraculously a sinister connection to the CCP will appear out of nowhere.
It’s dead everywhere else because they can’t use Google Play Services.
Anyway, I don’t think the goal of US actions is ever to stop or kill anything completely. After all there’s money to be made in the “problem” coming back again and again.
I think this is an important point people who mock the US don’t get.
How about option 3: Musk’s success relies heavily on remaining visible in the media, so he does and says stupid shit to keep us talking about him and his companies. And we’re being absolute morons and doing exactly what he wants.
Not sure what this has to do with technology.
Imagine thinking that US and European manufacturing is so advanced/magical that China “The World Factory” can’t figure it out
In ten years they’re going to have global companies competing with Intel, AMD, Arm and Nvidia.
