I’m honestly not sure. Their mixed use of billions, trillions, kilo, giga, etc was confusing me.
Just awful. This child deserved better.
The one that kills me is when the glue they use to close the box is stronger than the box itself, so you wind up just ripping it open.
That’s not true. Most of it is from commercial fishing. Here’s a source, from the group doing this cleanup.
Our World in Data has a decent article about it: https://ourworldindata.org/food-choice-vs-eating-local
Yep! It’s a bunch of reddits that all talk to each other, and each one can have whatever communities (subs) it wants.
Anecdotally, as a parent who grocery shops for my family, yes. A few key items that my family goes through have finally dropped to more regular prices. Not pre-pandemic sale prices, but much lower than they have been. Not everything, and some products seem to have changed or disappeared permanently, but I have noticed a difference in our grocery bill.
Yes! What was up with that Jesus ad, ad nauseum? Weird and also just boring.
I did post this in a crypto community, but it’s a tiny group right now. I don’t really expect to get much response there. https://lemmy.world/c/crypto@lemmy.link
Is there a tip bot for that? I really don’t want to have to link my Venmo or Cash App to some random stranger on the internet.
I don’t use that app so I can’t help there, but if you go to the actual website and login you can easily search and subscribe there. It’ll them be attached to your profile, and show up in your app under your subscribed communities. On the website, click the hamburger menu in the top right, then search.
I was also able to do it in Jerboa before and now on Liftoff, so I would get there’s a way in Connect.
Another thing to look for is whether your community name is already taken, on your instance. (You can use the same name on different instances, but only once per instance. Same with usernames.) Sometimes Lemmy just gives you the spinning wheel of death when something is wrong, but doesn’t tell you what the problem is.
Same, except I switched to Liftoff. It’s a little hard to find in the Google Play store, but the app itself is great so far!
I just saw that Boost for Lemmy was announced!
I think it’ll be significant for Lemmy, but not significant for r.
I really like this karma method, but I’m curious about what led the site to going down the tubes for a bit there. Was that in any way a byproduct of the karma system, or other issues entirely?
Yes! And I accidentally upvoted something earlier before I realized where I was. Felt bad.
It just occurred to me that this ability to communicate with a search engine, that everyone used to call Google-fu, was exactly this! It didn’t already know (or think it knew) what you were getting at, and it’s took some practice to figure out how to finesse the results.
