  • Thanks, you too. I’ve slept though, I’m rested, the two days migraines let up which is nice.

Free friendly advice: Look you might be cynical, but this kind of behavior isn’t cynicism and saying that it is is a cop out. It’s unprovoked hostility. It’s helped me to pay attention to those kinds of impulses. Is it pattern in your interactions? You’ll be a happier person when you’re aware and work on the ways that you belittle and alienate other people, even strangers on the internet. If that came across in anyway other than encouraging friendly advice that wasn’t my intention and I truly hope you have a wonderful day, stranger. Best and better yet, we all want a kinder internet!

  • Did I upset you when I was fast and loose on the grammar conventions at 1 in the morning? How does it make you feel when you talk down to people?

Edit: To answer your question, yeah that hostility was obvious at first glance. Just decided to give you the benefit of the doubt, because some people miss grammar conventions, other people miss social conventions, doesn’t mean either deserve to be treated as lesser.

  • Exactly, they have this habit of making things worse for its userbase to consolidate more control over the value we made for them. I can’t help but feel a kinship with the domestication of cows, ‘cool all my favorite grass and cows, huh that fence is new, damn they’re starting to milk us pretty hard, shit are we stuck here?’

  • I’m just saying the choice to host instead of letting res or 3rd party apps clean up the interface while they built a huge archive for the low low price of archiving links and conversations. It was inflated more than it could sustain without becoming more commodified so it kept doing that and here we are.

  • I had no idea China was member of the EU these days.

Edit: since sarcasm is a little too subtle for you, considering your last comment, I’ll spell it out for you, mate. Obviously, EU has cast iron, stainless, and carbon steel, everywhere does it’s not new. I’m making fun of you for suggesting that because the advice is from Americans it’s inherently bad advice, when this thread is advising tried and true cookwares as the better choice to nonstick disposables. Go find a comment thread that’s advocating for another fisher price landfill destined pan if you want that hot take to have any value and not make you look like a lost xenophobic asshole. And while you’re fucking off, go sit on your European exceptionalism; cast iron was invented in China at least a thousand years before eu guys figured it out.

  • Allclad has factory seconds sales like 4 times a year, I think there’s one going one right now. If you’re unfamiliar, they’re a premium brand for high end home stores so they’re bar for quality is very high, because of this they can’t sell any products that have minor cosmetic defects or even damaged packaging. So, these factory seconds are sold for a huge mark down. Larger sets can still go for a lot more than a disposable nonstick you’d find in a grocery store, but they’re worth it. Alternatively, you can find them on Craigslist or marketplace pretty regularly for a steal, too.

Stainless clad pans are a little different to work with compared to nonstick but preheat the pan, cook with oil, and you’ll prefer it by miles to nonstick.

Edit: sales still going on, here’s a link. Happy cooking.
