You’re right - most media formats have support for metadata, which can include all sorts of things depending on how the image is created. For instance, most phones have an option to add location data to photos.

A lot of identifiable info like location data is usually an option you can turn off. And there are a lot of tools to remove metadata from files. A quick search brought up this, which seems fairly reputable (and open source, which is usually good for sensitive stuff like this).

I find personally it’s easier and more relaxed to hang out in person. But that’s with friends, so unless you’re on close terms with everyone that does seem like a big hassle.

I wonder though where you meet up, and what you do. I can totally see myself wanting to do a meetup like that if it’s somewhere fun, like a big city, and there’s some events planned out.

Plenty of the mods (portal stories Mel, portal reloaded) have plenty of playtesting. Valve already did most of the work with the base game, making sure the mechanics all function properly. But I think it’s just as feasible to design a good puzzle with 5 playtesters as it is with 100.

Why would they? What could they offer that the hundreds of community test chambers and mods don’t?

True but dictionaries (at least for English) are descriptivist, so they can only describe how a word is used. The definitions, especially the second one, are so broad due to how much the word is misused.

Webp is a more modern image standard built for the web. Gif has major limitations, and animated gifs are actually bigger in size and worse quality than video files - these days, very few gifs you see on the web are actually .gif files. A while back imgur started converting them to mp4 behind the scenes.

Webp was built with animation in mind, so it works like gif and with much better file size. Even though it’s relatively new it should have decent support in most programs that have been updated in the last few years - so you shouldn’t necessarily have to jump through hoops to use it.

Theoretically it wouldn’t be that hard to do a basic bounding box check - just loop through each vertex and make sure it’s within the bonds.

Of course players could still use a model that goes right up to that bounding box, so they might get a slight advantage, but if the collision stays the same it might not be that helpful.

Because android focuses on one app per screen, having a main launcher makes sense. But for windows, that idea doesn’t really translate. You can download programs to replace or change certain aspects, like rain meter or classic shell, but I don’t think anything exists that bothers to overhaul everything.

There is a similar thing to launchers on Linux though, called desktop environments. These will change the behavior and ui of the entire desktop experience.
