I see a lot of people saying something along the lines of “their network; their rules”.
With this in mind, it’s still shitty that they frame this as a compatibility issue when in reality they just want to track you.
They should be forced to say that they disallowed this private relay thing in order to obtain more info about their customers, because that’s significantly more accurate and truthful.
May they all fall asleep sunbathing on their yachts… and wake up redder than a traffic light.
I’m ashamed to admit I totally forgot about ddwrt/openwrt. It’s been a decade or so since I messed with that. Good call.
Sad to hear. As a German living in the Ausland for many decades its nice to see the Germans chat on here. Good luck with the transition.
This makes me think of how my parents’ generation would drive across town to save 5 cents on gas. Assuming a 13 gallon tank, you’re saving about 65 cents. Congratulations, big winner coming through! I will pay that 65 cents to have an extra 10 minutes of time to myself and have a hard time seeing how anyone would rather have the 65 cents.
Then you can use your glovebox battery to jump your main battery when you leave the light on!
Nextcloud was somewhat difficult for me the first time I installed it, though I did have a usable system in the end. Then I discovered Nextcloud AIO and haven’t had an issue since.
I’m no expert. I want to include that disclaimer up front.
Nextcloud with block storage on btrfs with snapshots seems like it could work for you. No idea about VFS though. I’ll leave that question for someone more knowledgeable. The “drive” portion of Nextcloud is quite decent. I regularly use it to pass large files between my phone (Android), laptop (Linux) and gaming desktop (Windows).
Lol, I would love it if someone coded a plugin that solved all of these captchas for me.
I don’t use dailies either. I use monthlies to track my shorter term goals or incremental steps for my long terms. My sections tend to be something along the lines of "what changed, what is my current standpoint, how does this affect my strategy, what did I do well, what did I not do well, did I do anything memorable? " My monthlies quote my annuals so I always read through them prior to writing anything down. My annuals quote my “core principles” which is a list of things I value most in life.
I feel like anything shorter than a month goes better in my task app or on my calendar.
But that’s just me. I’m also curious what others have to say.
Beef is one of the least-woke proteins. /s
My local healthy grocer (for lack of a better name) has “potato” chips made with veggie based ingredients like lentil flour, garbanzo bean flour, etc. Same is true for pasta.
Also, from personal experience, get one of those rubber horse heads and make up an alter ego that talks about how much they looooove veggies and how carrots are their favorite food. You can have a friend or family member do it, but if “Veggie Vincent the Healthy Horse” shows up enough times and talks about all the healthy, delicious things we can eat to grow big and strong like him, it’s a step in the right direction, not to mention fun for everyone involved. :D
Just tried it again. Feels good. I might run them in tandem for a bit.
That’s what I use. Didn’t want to influence your decision, but there’s no harm in revealing it after the fact. I do feel like I missed out on some cool features from the other apps I tried, but Eternity was the complete package.
There is no best. My recommendation is to download a bunch, then uninstall them one by one until you end up with the one that you like best. I settled on my favorite, and I had to give up some great apps with great features to get there. What do you value in a forum-style app?
The Walgreen’s near me sometimes lists prices in points. Companies use these rewards programs to muddy the waters of who has the best deal. They want you to buy their produce even if they’re more expensive because you’ve already bought into their rewards program. Its easy to say, Bob and Jim are selling the same product but Bob is $5 cheaper. But if Jim has a rewards program where you get compounding discounts over time as you buy more from them, it becomes real hard to do the math about who is really cheaper in the long run. It should be absolutely illegal or at least heavily regulated because its not only anti consumer, but undermines the free market by allowing companies to “lock down” customers with long term savings that can change over time. A free market makes it easy for consumers to make choices, not harder.
Germany does Kindergeld which translates to “kid money”. Of course Germans don’t want to have kids as much. Many Americans don’t know what birth control is or how to use it (someone else on this thread is solving that issue). I absolutely believe that you should be able to take as much time as you need to ensure your kids grow up well. Plus, some kids are harder than others.
I would start a community space with a dance hall, coffee shop, bike shop, maker space, brewery, and library centered on an urban trail to show people you can go places and do worthwhile things without an automobile. I’d include parking for cargo bikes, trikes and hand bikes, along with upright bikes and chargers for electric bikes. My hope being that the model would spread to other cities and higher density residential developments would spring up around it. Obviously my UBI wouldn’t cover that no matter how generous it was, so step one would be to use my extra time to get buy in from like minded neighbors.
This answers my question. I wasn’t sure if the server would have to download the whole file from the NAS prior to serving it.
I run my Nextcloud on Debian, ran Debian based distros for a few years, and I’ve done nfs on my synology with my laptop. I might be able to do it!
Wish me luck, and thanks for responding.
