Thanks everyone. It sounds like I’m gonna wait for the 15 (non-pro) to come out and get that!

I’m the same way. I would love if there was a 15 mini. I’d consider the 13 but USB-C is one of my main drivers and the fact it’s already 2 generations behind.
Question for all of you all. I’m switching from an Android since my phone is 3 years old and there is certain things iPhone supports that Android doesn’t. The USB-C switch was the final straw for me. Should I get the 15 or 15 Pro? I’m by no means a power user (Sync, Mail, texting, an occasional video), but I like to keep my phone for about 3 years. Do I future proof and get the Pro, or save money and get the regular.
Trying to be glib that most technological products are made from silicon, which generally can come from sand.
Nation favors local incumbent, news at 11…
Control is another thing. I can’t tell you the amount of execs I’ve heard say “they’re losing control of their company” or “I don’t feel I have the same control over my people”. It’s crazy that they think that. What do they think the past 3 years have been when they’ve gotten record profits “oh, but our profits would be even better if we had people back in the office”. Sadly no amount of data will override the entrepreneurial “it could always be more” what if that they throw out.
10-15? That’s childs play. I honestly read probably an order of magnitude more than that.
Ironically Sync can block entire instances.
But the beard and your clothes are all things you control. You don’t expect someone to change their looks for you. So likewise you shouldn’t be expecting developers to meet your stylistic demands.
Given the activity pub nature I think the closest you would get would be to filter by an instance. So your home instance would get all the ones it sees via the pub and then could filter based on name. To get a true “local” view you’d either have to auth anonymously as a different user (couldn’t comment) or would have to log in to that instance as one of their users (disjointed comment history).
Edit: I think this goes under the umbrella of allowing individuals to filter instances, just a reverse application of it. I know that’s an oft talked about feature.
I have never understood why people put so much stock in icons. It’s like people getting upset over the new pixelated reddit icon. It’s all reminiscent of the custom ring tones and call back song that people used to obsess over.
You’re just not going to give up this crusade are you? Going to start comparing salaries of line workers to starving kids in Africa again?
Got news for you. 4 months is on the short side. Any place that processes credit card or other transactional data will most likely keep it around 13 months if not longer. And yes you guys can quote “well actually it’s not required”, no, no it’s not, but I’ve worked with enough companies to know they hoover and keep IP, user agent string ,etc for quite a while.
Once you finish it, be sure to go back and do a New Game+. There are 13 different endings you can get as a result. There are a few guides you can search for but the nice thing is you can do them all in one NG+ run if you do them in order, they all depend on where in the story you are when you go to fight Lavos. Have fun!

You can’t do it in wefwef, but for Lemmy backed instances if you go in to your settings link under your account, there’s a tab for “Blocks” in which you can block specific users and communities. You can’t block instances however. Basically you have to remember the name of the community and search for it there.
I agree a block button on the community would be better but at least there is some method for blocking.
Had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
